Posting this for a friend of mine.

ASU Gaming Club LAN Party
http://gaming.appstate.edu

Date: November 19th 2005
Time Open: 2pm-12am
Location: Grandfather Ballroom at the Student Union on ASU campus
Cost: $15.00 for non-members and $5.00 for members. The entry price will cover the cost of the LAN party including pizza, prizes, and Red Bull provided by our local Red Bull representatives.

Networking
Two 24 port 100 megabit switches
One 24 port GIGABIT switch.
Internet access

That's a total of 72 network connections. After interconnecting switches, connecting game servers, the router, etc. we should be able to handle 60+ PC gamers. Thanks to the Appalachian Linux Users Group http://alug.appstate.edu(ALUG) we will be able to provide custom length CAT 5 network cables if yours won't reach the switch closest to you. There will be no cost associated with this service. This does not mean you can leave your network cable behind, even though we have 1000 feet of cable, making cables is relatively time consuming. The ALUG will have members on hand to help troubleshoot networking issues and help you set your computer up regardless of what OS and software/driver/hardware configuration you have(they know Windows too ;-)).

Halo 2 Tournament
The club will be running a Halo 2 tournament with a minimum of 8 televisions. We will provide Xbox's and other necessary hardware EXCEPT controllers, you must bring your own Microsoft controller, no other makes are allowed. The tournament will consist of 4 man teams with no additional entry fee. This tournament will be run by experienced Halo players. If you intend to play in the Halo 2 tournament and you are your team leader you must signup your team on the Halo 2 tourney signup page which will be available to you in a link on completion of this form.

Dedicated Linux game servers:
Counter-Strike 1.6 (AppState CS server)
Counter-Strike Source (AppState CS:S server)
Battlefield 2
Unreal Tournament 2004
Possibly: America's Army if enough demand
If there are enough requests for another game we will be able to switch a server over to that game.

If you intend to play PC based games you need to bring your own PC, surge protector, headphones, etc. NO SPEAKERS ALLOWED. We will NOT be providing gaming PCs.

Transportation
If you live on campus and need help getting your PC, Xbox, etc. to and from the LAN party we will be able to provide transportation for you.

Please check our website. Also if you intend to come, register and signup on our website:
