googled and did not find anything that great.

anyone had experience with buying a foreclosed home? where/how did you look. would you do it again? did you end up "gaining" equity?

thanks.

if no one ends up being able to help, you might talk to zorthage. he came very close to buying one. he didn't b/c it was taken off the market with no warning, and he needed a place before it would have gotten to auction.

http://www.foreclosurestore.com/

If you are serious you can do searches on this site and investigate the properties from there. Of course the condition of the property and doing a title search on it are two of the most important things when looking into a property.

here is a list of foreclosures and when they are sold at auction...remember there is a 10-day upset bid period that you can get in on as well

Usually, for tax foreclosure, the bank pays the taxes and forecloses itself. However, call the county tax attorney and ask for a list or any info about when he might have an auction.

My friends bought a local tax foreclosure. It needed $60,000 worth of work, but is darling and in a great neighborhood. They made $40,000 when they sold it.
