I may be getting the axe soon. my boss wants the CISCO UNITY EXPRESS vmail system up with all these additional features fromt the regular stuff by tommorrow morning. he basically threatened me on the phone two days ago before he went out of town.


if he gets unrulely tommorrow because I don't have it up and working I'm walking out. it's payday anyways . . .

total dickbag. there was no service contract on the cisco equipment, but because i'm the resident "engineer" all this is up to me. not to mention I got no training on this sh!t. all I have is the internet and a book entitled "Cisco IP Communications Express".

basically I'm fucked and must find a job soon. my days are numbered. my business cards look cool though.

Well, some words of wisdom on the cisco unity boxes. Make sure they are firewalled and protected up the wazzo. Since they run windows OS and multitudes of MS services, they are extremely hackable. Dont mistake being on a private network to being secured. VOIP deployment is not a small task. I run weekly scans of our Cisco VOIP boxes to look for any new vulerabilities or any signs of hackage.

i am extremely fucked, G. I have it set up to dial by extension and entering a persons name. i just need extra prompt for support, sales, billing and sh!t like that.
