posting this in the garage as it may have more responses..

my best friend is selling his 240 in perfect condition. ive driven the car...it drives great. you will not find a person who is more anal about maintaining his cars. if you want a nice, mostly stock, unabused, 5-speed S13, it doesn't get any better than this.

I don't believe that car has more than 10k miles on the engine. Engine bay is too clean.

if you think he maintains his 240 like he does, you should see how he maintains his ducati monster. it is beyond obssesive-compulsive.

optmus, im not sure what he set reserve at...

give him a ring (it's in the ebay link)..he can answer anything you guys want

Ebay's system, as far as I know, doesn't show a person's maximum bid but shows instead the next price increment.

example:
current price shown:$600 (with a minimum bid of $650, increments of $50)
then Joe puts a bid of $1000
current price changes to $650
then Bob bids $800
current price changes to $850 with Joe as high bidder
then Bob bids $1500
current price changes to $1050 with Bob as high bidder

I thought I had been screwed by Ebay snipers many a time until I learned this

Says in there he is selling a little below a KBB of $4000, which is a bit much for an s13 but considering it's condition and the bandwagon 240 deal - is a pretty fair price

Private party it's worth a little over $2000, retail it's worth something like $3800.

well thats what I meant, private party value.

I'm guessing he wants retail value for it, which he might very well get someone to pay, who's knows.

yeah, i've noticed that 240s in good shape tend to go for more than blue book.

once it got above 3000 i was out, that was all I was going to pay for it. Damn sad to see it go. I'd hate for it to go to some guy who just wants to swap in an SR or make it into a "drift machine".

Its up towards 4000 right now.
