I need one that doesnt work, like internal problems not you threw it against a wall. I lost mine but have a three year warranty for the replacement if something is not working on it (where the broke one would come into play). I was going to try and see if they would fix it so I would have one again without having to buy another one.

They DO have the serial. I've had to return mine for service, and when I went to the service website, I put in my serial and they had all my info...they know the warranty coverage of every individual unit. If you try to return one that's past it's warranty period, even if you had the extended plan on another unit, it won't work. The support site will tell you that it's run out as soon as you enter the serial on the one you just got.
