My roommate just bought this rat a few hours ago to feed his boa but he didnt realize she was about to shed. Therefore, she wont eat the rat. He needs to get rid of it ASAP. I think he paid $6.40 at carolina pet supply for it

how long will the rat live in the snake cage? Will it disturb the snake's shedding process?

I have had a rat live with a snake for 2 weeks. No problems. The rat lived on one side of the tank, and the snake lived on the other. Then one morning, I got up, and there was no more rat.

If the rat pisses off the snake, the snake will kill it anyway.

Leaving the two together is not generally considered good practice though.
