I'm selling my '89 325i sedan. It is very well maintained, and it is the love of my life, that i would never sell if i wasn't moving to Brazil. I honestly don't know how much to ask for it, I'm sure it's worth more to me than what others may pay for it, but i have to sell it. If I get an offer that sounds reasonable, it's sold. Also, I'm open to haggling.

It includes:

5 OZ route wheels (full size spare included)
Limited-slip differential
Yakima roof-mount bike rack
Car cover from Bavarian Auto
Jim Conforti chip
Tokico sport suspension
Sound system with eclipse cd player, kicker speakers/crossovers, and 10" subwoofer
Ansa muffler
momo knob
rubber floor mats and stock carpet mats
All of the factory tools shown below

Modifications and maintenance:

Mechanical fan removed
lower temp fan switch installed
Brakes all around (rotors and pads) within last 10,000 miles
timing belt within last 30,000 miles
regular, frequent oil changes (3,000 miles or 6 months) with 20w-50 in summer and 10w-40 in winter
regularly washed, waxed and armor-alled (about every 10 times I drive it)

Flaws:
Paint has some blemishes and very small chips in the front
Front seats are worn
a/c need recharging
fuel gauge is not working, although I plan to replace gauge cluster shortly, so hopefully it will work by time of sale

all photos are in my gallery

if any one wants to make a serious offer email my ncsu account at jchollin

I'd go $1500 which is $500 more than I paid for my current 1989 325i. The sound system, LSD, and roof rack are worth it for me to upgrade.

pics are in my gallery, no trades. $6k is reasonable considering condition and value of wheels.

At best it's in good condition with shredded seats and busted a/c. Those wheels are around $1000 new. They don't add anywhere near that much value to the car though. Maybe a few hundred bucks. Good luck getting $6k. Someone can get a near mint car or a nicely track prepped car in much better shape for that price.

I didn't say I expected $6k. I said I would start haggling at $6k, hopefully that means I'll end up the the ballpark of a fair price before I have to move.

if it just needs recharging, why not spend the $20 and charge it up?

you're not gonna get that kind of significant value here off the tww. post on craigslist and on bmw forums. Btw, a friend of mine got a similar e30 convertible with only 30,000k miles in mint, show room condition for about 6.5k.

dude, i love BMWs...i've owned one, my dad's owned like 5 of them...and i'm all about flipping cars. I make money on most of the cars that I own when I sell them.

but there is no way on God's green Earth that you will ever get $6000 for that e30, or anything even close to it. It's so far off that it's not even a good point to start negotiating from, because nobody is gonna bother to even make offers on it (they know you aren't gonna cut your price in half).
