What's the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?

A pit bull doesn't support building a bridge to nowhere and then lie about it.

what's the difference between a democrat and a pitbull?
a pitbull doesn't promise to use public campaign funds and then back out of it.
a pitbull doesn't say he can't disown a man and then do it.
oh, and a pitbull possibly has testicles.

If someone asked me I would say I had a "favorable" view of Palin, because I have not reason to hate her. She would just make a terrible president if put in the position, and the last thing the country needs is a religious whacko with the ear of the president.

I think there has been a backlash against the ridiculous, orchestrated attacks on Palin from the moment she was announced.

Quote :
"The turning point was the designation of Palin and the personal attacks on her. By stirring up a storm, Democrats assured that Palin would speak to 37 million Americans - just a million fewer than watched Obama's acceptance speech.

Anecdotal evidence already suggests that women may have a gut reaction to the establishment's sexist assault on a woman candidate - and flock to McCain. They've seen him stake everything on this one big move of turning toward a woman - in direct contrast to Obama's deliberate decision not to name a woman.

They've seen the media and Democrats gang up on her and do their worst. And they've seen Palin stand up and stuff the challenge right back down the establishment's throat. All this may have created an entirely new dynamic in the race."

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/democrats_in_trouble.html

This is pretty much what I've been saying for the last couple days. The Dems worked themselves into a lather and ended up shooting themselves in the foot.

These people talked to plenty of women, and as it turns out, they won't vote for palin JUST because she was a woman. Hillary would have gotten more women votes, by far, than Palin.

#1 that article was written on August 30, 2008, which means he was getting his info from the week august 20th.

#2 a lot of shit has changed since then and she's actually been able to talk from her own mouth instead of the internet rumors and photoshops doing it for her

^ So what are you saying? You have a prescience of what the national polls will say, before they say it?

The Republicans have set a new precedence the past couple of years for trying to dictate reality, but making stuff up in no way strengthens your argument. Anecdotes dont equal data.

ummm... if even the headline of this thread is an indicator, it serves to show that she has massively improved her image. Come on, man, don't be that obtuse.

But hey, sure, it makes sense to argue that a poll from before she had her first chance to talk to the nation that was done while the media was blitzing the hell out of her would show the same numbers after she spoke to the nation and fucking hit a home run with it. really. that makes sense.

You guys are so funny with the whole OH WE BACK shit because of Palin, and funnier with the 'Dems shot themselves in the foot line'- OH WE BACKLASHIN' - hahahaha.

She's new, a celebrity right now, what the hell do you expect. This is a freaking bounce. What matters is 1) debates 2) turnout 3) driving home a message on the economy.

You can post barrels of koolaid posts all you want but it won't change what will happen in November.

“Sarah!” a small group of them yelled . "

Yes.. Obama-Media jackals, by all means keep up the attacks on Palin. It's helping your candidate so much.

Haha, did you even read the link I posted? That early poll shows Palin with similarly high "favorability" ratings, but also shows this doesn't translate in to votes. So posting that she has a high "favorability" again is meaningless, because as very recent history has shown, this doesn't mean votes. The poll numbers are already starting to level off again where they were before both conventions.

And besides, csharp was talking about all these women flocking to her, and my point was to show that women aren't necessarily flocking to her. Until a new poll breaks down by demographic, it's hard to say what women are doing post-speech. I've heard tons of anecdotes of women being offended at the pick (more than i've heard of women loving Palin), but those are just anecdotes.

I don't know a single woman who thinks Palin should be the VP nominee. All of them that I've talked to, in fact, are horribly offended by the Republican party's sexist tokenism in choosing her as the nominee.

You will see Palin on TV one more time before the election and it will be of course the debate. There will be no interviews done prior to the election because they are afraid she will screw up...and this is suppose to be someone that should be VP? I guess they are figuring if they get elected, she can Bush along.....

McCain/Palin will only get elected because of the staggering level of idiocy of a lot of americans...people are so impressed with how well she can speak words that were written by someone else, but haven't paid attention to the fact that most of those words have been lies, she's being investigated, and she's a creationist nutjob...then McCain fully admits to making rash decisions that often come back to haunt him...and he sure has outdone himself here with his hockey mom beauty queen.
And some of you people want these guys to be our leaders? WAKE UP, you're (mostly) college students, learn to think. the republican party is not.the.same.as.it.used.to.be

McCain/Palin are the posterchildren for today's republican party, and that is scary. Do you really want a leader who most likely believes that the world is going to end soon? That Jesus is coming soon?? Why don't you just elect Gary Birdsong or whatever the fuck his name is?

Because the smartest =/ most educated

Because those that are considered so aren't necessarily the best leaders

Because those that are considered so are mostly out of touch with the needs of the general population

How can you say that people are "so impressed with how well she can speak" when she's running against Obama, who's garnering the same type of support. As far as "creationist nutjob," so were the guys who drafted those old words, oh what were they... "endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights"... fucking nutjobs, right? I'm so glad science is the foundation for which we have rights. Who needs freedom of religion anyways...

Oh, and rash decisions... such as Biden supporting the war before saying now it was a bad idea? Decisions always have consequences that come back to haunt all politicians. It's the nature of the beast.

and as much as the GOP isn't so grand anymore, the Democratic Socialist party of America is barely recognizable from its roots.

it's the same reason why like-minded people sit at the same table in the cafeteria

More fun with Palin:
Quote :

the people who drafted our constitution were not creationist nutjobs. that comparison is stupid. If they wrote something like "the world is flat" or "america is the center of the universe" into the constitution, that would be an equal comparison to how ridiculous creationism is in todays world.

You're implying that the science of evolution completely disproves creationism, in the same manner as the discovery of a round world disproves the theory that it was flat.

That's false.

So who disproved creationism???

show me the money. I like how you have to shit on %60-%70 of the people of this nation just because you've seen species that adapt to their environments.

you can't disprove it. in fact the more thats discovered in the universe the more i am convinced there HAS to be a source of its design.

Creationism is one of those issues where the liberals assume every sane person agrees with them. They make no attempt to respect the opposition, and it winds up costing them votes.

You obviously have bought the farm when it comes to history. You've finally given in to the rumor that they weren't.

It's awesome how modern day society will hinge itself off of a couple out of context quotes from the diaries of Franklin and Washington.

Yet, how many thousands of entries from their journals and personal histories show that they were men of faith in God??

make sure when you go visit the halls that honor these men, that you don't vandalize it. i'm sure you'd gladly spray paint out any reference to a religious principle
