Anybody know where one of these cafes is around the Triangle area? I keep hearing that there is one near Cary Towne Center but can not figure out exactly where it is located.

I stopped by this place after work. As far as I can tell, its $.12/minute to buy time on the internet. And w/ that purchase they give you "entries" into sweepstakes (online slots)

I may be way off but I'll know more when I actually go back and gamble

the ones ive seen in bars dont have phone cards or sweepstakes or anything like that.

you give money to the bar, they put it on the machine for you, you play, and if you win it prints a ticket which you can exchange at the bar for cash.

Yeah

I went to one on Friday night that opened right down from my house

I put in $20 and played for 2 hours and then cashed out when I had made $5

It was a lot of fun. Pay off isn't that good though.

It's the only thing keeping the local business real estate economy going here in Shallotte. Every empty store is not a Sweepstakes cafe. There must be >25 or so in this area.

That shopping center is a joke after the lunch rush and on the weekends.

The World Overcomers blow that parking lot up on Sundays though.

CassTheSass and I went to the one across from Meredith.

for first timers, if you pay $10, they give you $5 free, so we did that.

I played smokin' 7's and bet high for each game so I only played for less than 5 minutes.

and won 19 dollar bucks.

Rapid gambling? Pretty sure I've seen people stay at the gas station for hours with scratch-off tickets...

I went to the Miami Blvd one on Sunday. The guy working had no problem admitting it was a scam to do online gambling. Had fun.

So it still needs to pass the House.

I might make another trip to the sweepstakes cafe by my house this week just in case something happens.

I'm going to miss these.
Just went to Cheerz, got a sweet ass sub, ate it at the cafe and left with lunch paid for, and more than $20 more in my pocket.

It's not that they are against gambling - because the state runs the lottery system- they are against privatization of gambling because citizens make money and the government does not.

I'd love to see these banned. The 2 here in Hope Mills are rat-holes. So much smoke you can barely see, NASTY equipment, and not to mention they're right in prime real estate where I'd like my office to go

thx u

Ok for some reason, I'm just learning that these sweepstakes cafes are still open and operating. I just assumed that they all closed down after the new year w/ that law that was passed. But I guess they were able to change some things around to stay open and still be "sweepstakes cafes". I went to the one by my house yesterday w/ $20 and walked out w/ $200

There's a shitload of these places on Capital and S. Saunders. Which really shouldn't be all that surprising

I remember years ago a coworker of mine at the coffee shop loved to go to that giant bingo parlor on Capital. So she talked me and another coworker into going with her one night. It was fun but also kind of depressing to watch people you knew had zero money using what they did have to play bingo. I was also afraid of getting shot when we left the parlor after dark

So who is it that pays you, the sweepstakes cafe, or do you fill out routing stuff online
