Yea I wish I had some more experience to do that.

Then again, I don't think I'd want to admit that an E30 driven by one of my friends consistently lapped several seconds faster then me.

HPDE CHAMPIONSHIP, I GOT THAT ON LOCK DOWN SON.

More power to you bitches. I'm thinking about picking up an e30 as well. If we could just get the rest of the clan to pick one up each, that'd be something... Are you guys seriously considering spec e30 in a year or two?

nasa southeast has a coupon for 4 (four) track events for $899.

thats $225 each event, which is normally $280.

im not sure if you can share coupons, but if so, 4 of us should go in on it..

if I do all four time thscc time trials, I'll probably do comp school for spece30 at the end of this year.

You know, you could always do time trials with NASA (which'll get you more experience with "race-like" open passing), since it's... the organization that'll be running spec e30... They do want more experience than THSCC does, before allowing you in TTs though, probably for the very same reason (traffic management). Some people in the instructor groups get quite insane w/NASA though. Considering Chin was so tame this year, I'd say NASA-SE has the most intense action in HPDE 4/TTs. I highly recommend them!

did he do it because of cold tires, or because he was trying to warm up his cold tires?

i dont think he knew how to warm them up.

i think he just figured.. hey, ive got racing slicks, i can grip.

thats all i know.

the chief instructor told us what happened. something along the lines of he hit the gas and just went squirming.

it was on the grid. not even out on track. (i think)

Lets sum up the terms:

"Pulling a Callahan"

Doing a random 360 on track and then driving on as if nothing happened.

"Pulling an Ahmet"

Doing a randomg 360 off track.

"Pulling a Mark"

All of the above combined?

Rebuilt all four calipers, put four new rotors on, bled the brakes, changed the oil, and changed transmission/diff fluid.

Bought a fire extinguisher, camera mount (the $texas ioport one), and SFI-rated driving gloves.

It was an expensive weekend

I felt like I overbrake just a bit there, that I should be turning in a wee bit later and a little hotter. But thanks for the kind words of advice.

Sorry you couldn't make it out, Dan. Next time

^^^^ jeeze, could you possibly go any slower and still be allowed on that track.....I felt like I was watching a car silently go through a strip mall parking lot at the speed of slow.....I couldn't even make out the type of cars going by you b/c they were passing you so fast.....LOL

^Let me help you out-
They were:
A highly modified e36m3, a supercharged 996, and an e30.
All of these cars were very well driven, certainly a higher caliber of driver than me- I'll give you that.

That said- judging solely on the ignorant tone of your response- I'm quite certain you wouldn't know an apex from a fucking speed bump. I rarely bait on trolling, and I apologize for doing so, but I'm confident the rest of the garage 'track' community will quickly clear things up for you.

Actually, I just realized who you are. Feel free to bring your mustang out to the next event! I'd be happy to take a quick trip into the green group to demonstrate what it feels like to be lapped by a car that's twice as old, has half the power, and less tire.
