Trump has lost the hip-hop industry:

"I have never had an interest in politics..."
but...
"What makes it even weirder is that the Susan DeLemus onscreen there appears to be the same Susan DeLemus who is a two-term member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives"

WTF??

Where does CNN find these people? I would think the producer or someone would be saying this into the interviewer's ear piece.

He is hitting the nail on the head with that, most republicans and even a few democrats question weather our current president is "decisive and competent" enough.

Competent is a good way of describing it. Though with all of these dumbass tweets I still am suspecting he is sabotaging the GOP for Hilary in secret.

While I love the theory that Trump is trying to sabotage the Republican party for Hillary, I equally like the theory that his entire role is to make true career Republican politicians look moderate by comparison (i.e Ted Cruz). Explains the complete lack of any fire-fighting between the two.

The thing is Cruz extreme for entirely different reasons than Trump. As a white professional I'd totally rather see Trump in the white house than Cruz. If Cruz becomes president I'm becoming an active member of the Cascadia succession movement lest be stuck in Christian-land for 4-8 years.

^ i wonder if Fiorina did the same thing...

Although I think Cruz's statement came from the fact that intelligence agencies can request the records from any telecomm company now, without a court order (if it's an "emergency"), which would mean they have access to 100% of records.

Not sure how the law was written before this. Not surprising a law that ends mass covert collection of data fixes this problem by eliminating the need to do this covertly.

Usually the most promising candidate rises up in January. I remember Obama went to Clemson to give a speech in January 15th in 2008.

On natural born citizenship:
Quote :
"The Constitution requires a president to be a “natural-born citizen.” Anyone born to a U.S. citizen is granted citizenship under U.S. law, regardless of where the birth takes place, as long as the citizen parent has resided in the United States or its territories for a certain period of time. Dude, we are fucked. There isn't even an acceptable, let alone good, plausible option in either party.

I mean, Kasich or Jeb would be, uhhh...acceptable in the sense that they'd kinda govern moderately, maintain the status quo, and not fuck anything up too much; it would be a punt and try again later. Umm, Rubio...wouldn't be the disaster that Trump or Cruz would be...I don't like him, but I don't think he'd do long-term/irreparable harm like GWB or pretty much anyone who's likely to win this time, but even he isn't looking promising. Clinton is probably the slimiest candidate since Nixon or LBJ, super hawkish, and with all of the destructive ideas of standard Dem fare. Bernie Sanders...hahaha, Jesus fuck, you have got to be shitting me.

[Edited on January 15, 2016 at 12:16 AM. Reason : Shit, what if it's Cruz vs Clinton or Cruz vs Sanders? We're fucked right in the ass with those, too]

People seem to give the role of President more power than it actually has. My biggest concerns are Trump and Cruz, both of which would destroy the remaining USA international rapport. Plus they would take aggressive stances on issues and try to shove them down our throats.

Rubio is a Republican version of Obama. Young and inexperienced. Likely the Democrats would take advantage of those traits and completely railroad anything he tries to accomplish, just like the Republicans did to Obama. Consider him being elected another 4-8 years of mediocrity and inaction.

Hillary Clinton embodies everything wrong with our political system; yet, in the end, I see her presidency mostly in-line with her husband's: shady and immoral on a personal-life level, but highly productive. Based on my knowledge, you are conservative so I could see why you wouldn't want this, but your statement is practically a ringing endorsement for Democrats to rally behind her.

I don't see nearly the same amount of risk with Sanders. He is about as far left as you can go, but there is only so much even the Democratic Party (who is doing its best to _not_ elect him) would let him get away with. His crazy ideas, even if they do not get enacted, would still improve our international relations. Heck, every Republican I know (excluding the crazies who support Trump/Cruz) highly respects him.

--

I am eagerly awaiting how everything goes down, and I could see one of the major candidates try for a 3rd party run based on the RNC/DNC heavily favoring candidates. And if one party does that, I could see the other doing it as well.

See I would like to think that as much business investments, hidden interests, and corporate buddies that Trump has; he may rock the boat but has to much in the pot to let it spill over. I also don't see any SCOTUS nominations as being particular off the wall from Trump.

Cruz on the other hand.... the only thing he appears to answer too is Big Oil and his moonbat crazy evangelical conservatives fans

That is the kicker. the fuck are you talking about? I'm not particularly hawkish.

beyond that, compared to anyone running for President right now except for Sanders and Rand Paul, I'm a peacenik with flowers in my hair.

and to my previous point, yes, she's well right of [historic, normal] center on that. I'm not convinced she isn't the most hawkish candidate running in terms of real policy (blabbering about bombing iran to give our sailors back quicker than in a few hours notwithstanding). That's what I'm saying, she's right of center in a few ways, but on balance, definitely not.

Yeah, Clinton is an absolute nightmare. She's got a massive neo-con warboner the likes of which no one in the current Republican candidates can match, and at the same time she also wants to broaden and enhance virtually every government agency whether it's the NSA or HUD. I can't imagine a bigger government candidate who is ALSO corrupt as all get out.

People freaked out a bit when I said it before, but she's probably the worst and most bought and paid for candidate in our life times and quite possibly ever.

^^ & ^^^

In re war boners and hawkishness: you two must have watched a different debate than I did Thursday night. There were lengthy discussions about building up the military (apparently we don't spend enough on defense?), world wide force projection, showing tinpot dictators who's boss, etc. Several denounced Obama's diplomacy in favor of military force.

Calling Clinton significantly more hawkish than any other candidate is a bit hyperbolic.

"Crazy is a bad word choice for bernie. People often confuse different with crazy. His proposals are different from those of every other American politician, but are quite common in the rest of the developed world. They also work and are what the people (even americans) who understand them want by an overwhelming majority. He would win by a landslide if everyone knew and understood his platform. Thats why making noise in Iowa and New Hampshire could put him over the top. The longer people hear about him, the more votes he will gain."

Thats just a flat out lie. He is not a socialist and even a socialist is not "as far left as you can go"
People believing lies like that is the biggest factor hurting Bernie right now. He actually believes in democratic capitalism but is against a few companies creating an oligarchy. Thats far from socialism

[NO]

1. Bernie Sanders supports lots of socialistic policies; he is the most socialistic candidate in the race by far. No, he is not a "pure" socialist, but I feel pretty comfortable calling him a socialist.

2. He might not be "crazy" in the clinical sense, but he's certainly crazy in the Ron Paul sense: ideologue and idealist who isn't really constrained by reality, or for that matter, facts.

3. That chart is fucking ridiculous. I don't even know where to start with it, but fuck it, it doesn't warrant that serious of a response, anyway.

exactly. If we ignore what the GOP candidates are actually saying, we can safely assume Hillary is the most hawkish candidate? For fucks sake, at least she supports ending the Cuba embargo, basically the most common sense foreign policy decision for our country in the last decade. We can't even get a GOP candidate to support that shit.....because socialism or it makes us look weak or [insert strange rationalization]. At worst, they are equivalent.

But there is an advantage with Hillary. Liberals should be able to hold her feet to the fire. She'll have her adventures, but the anti-war part of the left should be able to pressure her to reign it in (we've seen this somewhat with Obama, could have been more effective, but I think the left is more aware of Hillarys hawkishness and will have higher expectations).

Compare that with GOP candidates that only seem to defer to the nut-jobs and will be actively pushed to war by the Bill Kristols, Cheneys, Netanyahoos, etc of the world.

its an easy decision.

^not being constrained by reality is believing that a multi-trillion dollar tax cut will balance the budget and will magically cause our economy to grow at 6%. Or that repealing Obamacare will increase healthcare coverage. Or that repealing regulations on banks will make the system more resilient. Or that climate change isn't real and doesn't need to be addressed. Or that Gay marriage is going to stop god from blessing us.......
