i just needed help on where to start and what i should change (engine wise and/ Clutch) when installing a turbo if i decide to.

youre going to blow a perfectly good motor" |
ok well my question is: will this car withstand the turbo kit if i buy one? and if not, then why?
Quote : | "man, no white speedometer? are you fucking serious, thats crazy, no way I would buy a car if it didnt come with a white speedo... " |
my point exactly... and the GS-T's dont have them..i dunno about the GSX though

I really didnt do any i just saw the car from a dealer i knew and i loved it...the body style and price..i didnt think turbos cost that much since i never owned or have any experince with them...and to tell you the truth after i sold the altima, i really had to have a car so the next day we drove around and i liked it so i took it.
^^heh I thought you were seriouse 10/13/2005 2:07:24 AM |

seriously...why did you buy this car with this stuff in mind if you have to ask these questions
the fact that you ask these questions also indicates you probably dont have the experience to do the necessary work for what you want on your own
that engine might handle forced induction...might...at a very low boost level. In general, N/A motors will not take well to boost because they are either: A) higher compression ratio, B) Weaker internals, or C) who cares
not to mention differently programed ECUs, different sensors, ect.
Join a DSM message board...they are probably used to having people like you come along and will know how to help you 10/13/2005 2:42:39 AM |

i don't want to talk out of my ass so i'm not going to say any of this is definite..but..
more than likely the NA motor has close to a 10:1 compression ratio while the stock turbo'd one is closer to 8:1. I know this true on the 3000GT NA and twin turbo models but am not up to speed on dsm's. You know nothing about tuning any car and definetly not a turbo'd car. The stock computer on the turbo one would not be ideal if the compression ratios were different. If you don't know where to get started and don't know how to do the research to find out, you don't need to waste your time. Even if you did manage to install a turbo kit properly and have it tuned properly, it's never going to be cost effective to do it that way and you're probably going to harm, at best, the reliability. On top of all that, it'll be FWD instead of the AWD you get with the GSX and will need if you really want to do anything with the power. You have a decent looking car that if left alone can probably be reliable and re-sellable when you decide to go for a turbo...until then just leave it the fuck alone and quit trying so god damn hard to do something to your car(s)

yeah dude to make this car a decent turbo you really need to swap out to the gs-t motor and then its transmission and axle are still probably stronger so you should get them too... and well then you might as well buy the whole damned car... and while your at it why not go awd w/ the gsx which i also heard makes more power even though it isn't rated as such. 10/13/2005 5:05:22 AM |

^^ thanks...i was only gonna turbo it nothing extra to clear out that point...but true, buying a GSX is much cost efficient than putting a turbo on this car. I just needed some thoughts, ideas, and the process of what can be done...just basic enlightment.
Thanks guys. 10/13/2005 5:39:13 AM |
