The way Mario has approached his college career is damn near perfect. He knew what he wanted and what he could do and he did it. Can't wait to watch him on Sunday. Let's just hope he doesn't sign with Rivers' agent.

What I think also helps Mario's stock is that he is the best DE prospect for both a 4-3 and 3-4 system. That is uncommon, and will really increase the number of teams interested in him.

I hope for the best for Mario at NC State (be it for another game or another year) and at the next level.

If there is one thing i never worry about with wolfpack football, its defense, and i wont worry next year either.

well then I guess you forgot about Philip's sophomore year too.

We're gonna be average on defense and bad on offense next year.

We have a bad QB, good RB's, bad WR's (sans Dunlap), bad TE, bad O-line.

On defense we have bad DE's, good DT's, good LB's, average secondary.

Proably good special teams so we might win a game we shouldnt.

I haven't seen the schedule, but assuming its as weak as always you are looking at 5-6 or 6-5 if we get lucky.

Our TE's should be solid. Anthony Hill looked damn good out there in the end of the season, and Darby was pretty highly rated coming outta HS. It'll be his RS Soph year so he should be ready.

Also, our QB play could be pretty good if Shaeffer comes. With his mobility, he could do a lot to mask the shortcomings of the O-Line.

Or he could look like Mike Vick against the Bears

Not that I wouldnt like this, but for arugments sake, do you think McCargo would make a better DE than Pressley? From what I've seen Pressley would be more of a help plugging up the middle, and a shorter more agressive McCargo might help more on the outside.

It's a premium article, but it looks like Brooks will be back next season.

Pressley, IMO, would be better at it. He seems to be a much better pass rusher than McCargo, and he's a little quicker. I believe some schools were actually recruiting him as a DT but wanted to slim him down to a DE.

McCargo isn't a very good pass-rusher... but he's an awesome run stuffer

I'm just saying body type. He seems to me like he's built a little more like a DE, even though he's a beast DT. all 3 DT's for us are good, so I dont think it would matter too much. We did fine without him this season, although it would have helped to have him in there.

well I just looked at their sizes and Demario is actually the lightest but he's 2 inches taller. For some reason he looks fatter than the other two though. Tank and McCargo are about the same size. To me McCargo seems the quickest of them all though...thats why I suggested that. Not trying to start shit though...just pondering.

the thing I like about having 3 DT's on the line is that NOBODY will be able to run on us. Plus, those guys get their fair share of sacks and qb pressures too, so that should be a nice lineup. Of course having Mario and Manny might have helped their stock a little too, so we'll find out how good they really are next year.

yeah . . . part of the reason they look good is because they were generally one on one. teams had to always doubled and trippled mario

^^Everybody would be able to run on us if we started 3 DT's. All they gotta do is pitch it outside and run around our line like they are high-schoolers.

Not really, linebackers usually have to stop the runs that far outside anyway.

I think our D will be about the same as it is now.

Sure, we're losing God's own tandem at DE, but we've got good backups behind those guys, and most other positions are solid.

Our secondary will have even more experience and was pretty good this year. Our LBs were above average(esp. Tulloch) and should be even better, and our solid stable of DTs are still intact. We'll be a little shaky at DE, sure, but the rest has experience if not depth.

Come next year, we'll still all be bitching about our offense.

Oh, and the thought of Mario, while making me giddy inside, is about as likely as some clever cliche that means it'll never happen.

^We will be losing 2 NFL corners and 2 1st or 2nd round DEs. We need some guys to step up in the pass rush, or it will be a tough year for our secondary. We'll have talent back there, but our system tends to put guys on an island out there, a tough assignment if the QB isn't pressured. The DE position will determine how good next year's defense will be.

I stand corrected, I thought he was a Senior. With or without AJ, the secondary will still rely heavily on getting pressure from the ends.

We're losing one CB(although possibly our best) and JJ Jones at S. We have good experience and talent at S, and although we're thin at CB, we return some guys who got some minutes and AJ Davis. Our secondary will be at least as good this year as last, and likely a good bit better.

Starting DEs will likely be Raymond Brooks and Willie Young(4 star DE recruit, freshman, will start if he can bulk up some in the offseason). Littleton Wright was listed as the top-rated JUCO defensive end by insiders.com at the time. I doubt we're going to move our DTs over(at least any starting ones) since we're thin but very talented there. Littleton Wright was listed as the top-rated JUCO defensive end by insiders.com at the time.

Amato tends to recruit well at DE spot, and it'd be hard to imagine he hadn't planned for this. I've heard Brooks and Young have talent and although this will be the weakest spot on D, we're stout everywhere else and I think the D will be ok.

I agree that our D will be ok. Maybe not great, but they will survive.

I would say most def. our best. Keep in mind that he played every game except Maryland with only 1 good hand.

Lets not forget we're also losing one of our best linebackers in Oliver Hoyte. I know we still have Tulloch and Pat Lowery but I think it hurt us early in the season losing Freddie and Pat Thomas. LeRue hasn't impressed me yet, maybe he can step up.

Anthony Hill and Octavius Darby will not be much drop off if any at TE. I believe both are sophs and saw a lot of action.

LaMart Barrett is back at WR and when the ball was thrown his way this year, he made as many plays as any of our Wideouts. Of course it doesn't matter if nobody can get him the ball.

That makes no sense what. so. ever.

okay, why would MW build a house in Raleigh or anywhere designated right now, if he doesn't know where he's even gonna get picked up?

Sounds like you're the victim (and I know Tyrone is guilty of spreading this shit around too) of some drunk in a bar spitting out big fish tales...

I personally think teams are gonna miss out on this guy if they don't pick him early. Did you see their bowl? Memphis is a terrible team and yet he the most 100 yard games in NCAA history.

At least that draft gave NCSU some respect putting Mario 2nd and Manny 31st. Well Manny some NCSU respect. North Carolina State faggots.

He reminds me of LT.

I guess nothing more than the fact that he plays for a lesser-known college and ESPN doens't hype him that much, yet he's nasty. I mean, I know LT got a lot of love in college and was envited to the Heisman ceremony, but if he played for a Miami, USC, or Oklahoma, he'd have walked on water alongside of Marcus Vick

Same with Williams
