cops aren't allowed to sit outside of a bar to stake out drunk drivers. It hurts the buisness b.c it discourages patrons from attending

^^^^^^^it would be better if they were waiting outside to tell people to go right back inside and find a couch to crash on, to drive people home, or even not wait outside at all. but i guess they have a job to do. their job just got easier with the new legislation about underage drinking, too.

bike/GoPed DUI is still a ridiculous concept.

When I was in Japan they had strict drinking laws for bikes too, though they rarely enforced them. It was illegal to ride a bike while holding an umbrella too. :'(

i remember my freshman or sophomore year, some asian homeboy from alexander got pulled over by a campus cop and received a 100 dollar fine for riding a bycicle with no headlight. holy fuck i was laughin my ass off

I'd rather them proactively watch for crimes that actually matter, like drunk driving.

But cops go for the low hanging fruit.

But then again if they were the type to work harder than that, they probably wouldn't be cops.

well last time i checked you didn't need to register your bike, have insurance, and a drivers lis. to ride.

they are two seperate mode of transportation and the punishment should be adjusted accordingly and not effect the other. b.c a drunky going 5mph on his bike is the same danger to society as someone driving their excursion 80 mph down the road .

public intoxication- yes
liable for a accident if they go into the road and cause a car to wreck- yes
DUI- NO
