My point was he has a powerful arm, capable of going deep. If he can get the deep ball in their area, thats good enough.

We can use draw plays, and play actions to soften the defense up. We can probably use the zone read play, and do a qb draw from it.

first off, we don't go deep. We don't really have any plays designed for the deep ball. everyhting is all slants, outs, and sideline screens. So he kinda has a point there. those passes are kinda difficult to throw when you face constant zones, and difficult reads.

^^but if they're in there to stop the run, they're probably close to the line of scrimmage....making it likely that there are only 3 people covering the deep ball (well over 10 yards).


I dont know the ins and outs of it, but it makes sense that if you stack the line you're going to have single coverage downfield somewhere, and your quarterback has to recognize where the single coverage or open man is.
