I think I'm gonna go with dual Weber induction instead of single Weber/single 4bbl.

engine is at Loop Road right now...I need to go ahead and have all the parts sent over there so they'll be done when I get back to NC.

I wouldn't say that mine is beat down. it's a whole lot of car for what I'm asking for it.

I certainly wouldn't describe it as a really particularly clean example, though.

[Edited on October 12, 2009 at 1:16 AM. Reason : I'd trade for a 330i or 330ci, E46-type...or maybe a 325is of the E30 variety.]

195/65/14 Goodyear Eagle HP tire with good tread...$Freee

e30 Tires & Wheels...lightweight bottlecap style. Fits 4x100 Honda junk too.

I didn't even clean these up before taking the pics, but I have been keeping them inside ever since they came off the car.

Four rims with Falken Ziex 912 tires - $275. No patches, well balanced:

Three of the rims with the Falken tires look pretty much just like this one:

The last rim is one I got off a parts car and it shows more age in the clearcoat:

Falken tread depth:

Spare rim with Michelin tire - $60:

Michelin tread depth:

Other e30 parts available, but I don't think any TWWers have one right now do they?

WTB: Small engine stand for use with a type IV air cooled vanagon engine. 750lb capacity or less if they exist. I might just go to Harbor Freight, but if anyone has anything for cheaper, I'd like to save a bit of money.

Stock...I don't think it was ever put on a car. Looks like it just sat in the trunk for 20 years and then someone had a new tire put on it.

Anyone have any 15" or 16" rims with 4x100 bolt pattern that are >=7" wide? Don't want anything nasty looking. Light weight is a plus. Tires not necessary.

I'm gonna sell a lot of my tool shit. I just don't have time or energy to devote to it anymore, and I need the money instead.

Hobart Handler 140 welder...with small cart, regulator. Never had gas run through it. 300 OBO.
Engine lift...I think arghx has it. I don't need it. 75 bux.
Husky roll chest tool box...paid 350 for it, first 125 takes it.

Various shit that has to go. Ask if there's something you need.

i need a set of standard combination wrenches and a set of metric combo wrenches, both in 12 pt, hopefully craftsman or kobalt or something with a lifetime warranty. what you got?

[Edited on February 10, 2010 at 12:37 PM. Reason : got any power tools? drills, saws, etc.]

Unfortunately, I don't have any sets as such. I've got a blue million combination wrenches, but none very new, and most are store brands.

I have two corded drills, but they are old craftsman and I'm keeping them. No other power tools except for air stuff.

I want this but my recent use of a lil baby welder like this (northern tool brand) leaves me worried- tell me how well will this work on 1/4 plate just using flux core???????????????????????????????????????

^^ I can't imagine that it wouldn't do 1/4" ok. I'd guess that would be about the limit, but I bet it'll do it.

...really, I don't think there's anything I'd be likely to weld that would require more grunt than that welder could deliver, and if it did, I'd probably just use a big stick welder. hell, dan can attest that sometimes less is more...the Miller at my granddad's shop is a major pain in the ass to weld sheetmetal with, even dialed all the way back. it's not much bigger than dan's welder, either.

but what do I know, I have no formal training with welding, haha. I've been doing it since I was about 12, but I won't pretend to actually be that knowledgeable about it.

________

break, break:

Putting my trailer up for sale for real now (listing it on eastern NC craigslist). If anyone wants it, I can tow it up to Raleigh (but not for you to look at and kick the tires on...if I'm going to bring it up, I want you to have every intention of putting money in my hand and signing the title over). You're welcome to come check it out in New Bern, too. It has two 3500# axles, removeable sides and ramps, and a roughly 6x12' deck. $1500.

Also, I'll still sell my GP1300R at any time, although I'll probably wait a few more weeks to really start advertising it. '04 model, but has '05 (new-spec) pump, built engine, etc. It's strong. Comes with a single trailer. Price TBD.

The S2000 will probably go on the market in the next couple of weeks, too. I'm determined to do one HPDE with it before I let it go, though. Hopefully this weekend will work out. It's a stock AP1, just over 100k miles, mechanically good but with a few little cosmetic gripes. Price TBD, but <$10k.

Need a piece of 1/4" scrap steel or aluminum if anyone has it or can cut me a piece.
Width = no more than 4"
Length = 23.5" would be ideal. Could maybe do 23"-24.5" though.

Would really like something tonight or tomorrow if possible.
