I was actually thinking about how kick ass it would be if Duke lost every ACC game this year. And I would support rushing the court for each and every game. They're whiny, little bitches, and watching them lose is an overwhelming pleasure, and we should not allow pretensions of class to abate our joy.

And you wanna talk about classy? I thought it was supper classy when Coach K blamed the VT loss on Paulus. He's a stand-up guy!

Maybe in the past you're correct Bridget but the thing that sticks out to me this year is that lack of arrogance. The body language of Paulus is like a 3rd grader who gets the shit kicked out of him everyday for his lunch money. Everyone on the team not named DeMarcus Nelson looks completely out of confidence.

Lucky for Duke the schedule gives them 3 games in a row where they should get some of that confidence back..

it's people like BridgetSPK that give nc state fans a bad name...they talk about a team who whines and all that, but all they are doing is whining about that team. pot meet kettle.

i wish we had a sports talk mod that would encourage SPORTS TALK and not whining or complaining about teams, players, or coaches, but that will never happen.

the game is at 5:30 today and redick (feb. 4 vs. fsu) and sheldon (jan. 28 vs. bc) have their jerseys retired this season for those of you who didn't know.

duke can be a great contender, they just aren't consistent at all and that does reflect on a team without lots of confidence (which any savvy basketball fan would notice like NyM410) and extremely unreliable guard play. luckily there is support coming in next year to take ALL the reliance off of paulus (and i get to see 2 of those recruits on the 30th).

duke killed a great air force team, but lost to inconsistent marquette who was murdered yesterday. indiana, gonzaga and georgetown were also great wins and george mason could be debated. virginia tech is a reasonable loss because they've been under the radar all year, but duke shouldn't have lost to georgia tech.

if scheyer and paulus don't score more than 20 points combined, have less than 8 assists combined, or more than 10 turnovers combined...duke will lose again.

also, i want to see zoubek and mcroberts in at the same time...duke plays really well when they do that because mcroberts isn't a true post player and creates a much bigger threat with interior passing with another capable big body down low.

There is a sg and two fs coming in next year but I'm pretty sure the pressure will still be on Paulus at the point because I don't think Nolan Smith can run point. They are all more swing type players. Duke is mediocre with Paulus playing bad but still good enough to beat Miami with a bad offense and great defense.

nolan smith will most likely be a combo guard...he plays point a lot and in most of his big tournaments he has been the pg. he's 6'2" and 170 pounds and to be the #10 guard in the country i'm pretty sure he is used to handling the ball. i'll report in after the hoop hall classic (lower level tix ). an interesting fact that dickie v will probably mention is that he wears a size 18 shoe...that's pretty big for his height...i'm 6'4" and wear size 15...

scheyer + paulus = 33 points, 7 assists, 3 turnovers...i'll let the 8 assists slide since they almost doubled my required points and paulus played with a hurt shoulder...but scheyer and paulus are the key...if they put up stats like tonight duke WILL be hard to beat again.
