it would be fun to go to the lantern (cept i'm kinda asianed out) or la rez. but i'd be probably equally (or more happy) for beer and food from carrburrito or pepper's pizza. i don't know if that is pathetic or awesome.

2. ipod touch loaded with music and angry birds (but she may be getting a smartphone soon so might not be worth it)
3. gift certificate to high end salon (she's been talking about needing to get her hair done by someone that actually knows what they're doing)
4. jewelry...for a girl that currently wears zero jewelry. Not so sure...

Tangible presents besides jewelry and lingerie are always a poor choice. This isn't Christmas or her birthday. Flowers, chocolates, dinner, wine, buttsex...these are cliche, sure, but they've been proven effective time and time again. This isn't the time to get them the latest gadget...a box of Godiva, a dozen roses, fine French cuisine, and you're made in the shade.

Point is, if she's using that netbook or listening to that ipod, she's not going to be thinking of you everytime she uses it. If she's smelling the roses you gave her or she walks funny for a week because of the immaculate pipe you layed into her, she'll think of you and smile.

And thats what V-day is really all about...asserting your importance in her life.

(well not really, but that is why you engrave a sentimental message on the back so she WILL think of you every time she uses it. then when it dies she'll be like "awww can't throw this away" and stick it in a drawer full of other obsolete electronic items and miscellaneous cords)

and if you do flowers, please god, don't do roses.

but yea, i guess my tastes differ from the norm. but really i don't think they do that much. there are plenty PLENTY of girls who would prefer non cliche shit. i think the ones wanting rose petals and candles are more of the headcase crazies who honestly think their lives are going to end up like sleepless in seattle BUT that is just my opinion

last year (or the year before, don't remember) got suckered into hang out with my one girl friend who lives in a romantic comedy dream world. it sucked. she was like "our bfs are in different cities so we can keep each other company!" i wanted to study and do my homework and watch tv like a normal night. she wanted to get PF Changs and watch a girly movie. i was not into it. but i did it anyway. 10 friendship points to me! haha. jk.
