I'm not gonna kill anyone... moreso just sit here with a confused look on my face.

Two completely different places, whose pizza is completely different, one is a bar as opposed to just being a pizza place (that does serve beer), and they cater to generally different clientele.

Now that i put it that way, they do kind of remind me of one another.

pizza is absolutely 100% different.

unless your criteria are limited to "it has red sauce and dough and cheese"

i don't know their crusts just remind me of each other

they are obviously different places, with different people, and different pizza

thats why i said "kinda reminds me"

funny thing about piccola italia

everyone was typing "piccolo" and i was like, "isn't it piccola?" but i wasn't sure

but instead of going out on a limb i just stayed quiet

I'm going to try Frank's Pizza tonight. It better be good. I feel like I'm cheating on my wife or something.

And seriously? Still on the spelling Piccola Italia wrong? I'm reformed. I swear...

Frank's pizza was good, but not enough to be rated in the upper echelons of Triangle area pizza.

What the fuck is up with pizza joints on Hillsborough? At 9:50 last night I wanted some hot slices and That's Amore, Syliva's, and I Love NY Pizza were all closed. I don't go looking for pizza on H'boro that often, am I missing something? It was complete bullshit when it says right on their door that they're open till 11pm.

I settled for Farmhouse pizza, which is good but it's no That's Amore or Sylvia's

Lilly's is the best pizza I've had around here. Moonlight and Franks were both really good, but I was disappointed after hearing and reading so many positive reviews. THey just didn't live up to my expectations.

1. Lillys
2. Mellow Mushroom

the rest is just meh.

I actually prefer I love N.Y pizza over Sylvias.

i still say piccola is my #1. then i have some other favorites, but definitely piccola is at the top of the list.

the others being, in no particular order: pepper's (ok chapel hill, whatevs), moonlight, capital creations, wildflour, lilly's

^^ Frank's was a letdown IMO. I don't know, but it wasn't in my Top Three in this area even. Too cheesy and the sauce didn't have the taste I was looking for.

In Raleigh:

I heart NY, Sylvia's, Moonlight, they're all good.

In Charlotte:

Hawthorne's is good, but

is my favorite. I could eat it every day.

^ True, but I like them all, and they are where I ate pizza when I was in Raleigh.

I don't like Gumby's. True story.

At that time I wasn't about to drive all over fucking Raleigh

Enough with ppl talking about Chapel Hill, Charlotte, etc pizza. The thread's not NC's best pizza GTFO with that shit.

Lily's is only good because it gets hyped up so much by you fucking hipsters. I had a pizza the other night and it was the most bland pizza I've ever eaten. Maybe it used to be good, but now the quality just isn't there.

i like:

amores
ruckus
lily's
capital creations

but i don't know how i'd rank them. the first two serve a completely different style of pizza than the second two. you'd almost have to make sub-categories for a comparison such as this

Capital Creations
Amore's (the new mural they put up last week over their sign is sweet)

People list I Love NY and Slyvia's probably because they associate "Raleigh" as the H'boro area. If you didn't live here and just went to State I could see that...

^ I actually like Amore's though it's still pretty generic. Anyway, I'm done being a pizza snob after my little revelation about getting Little Caesar's sometimes

I love Amore's not only for their pizza but their atmosphere as well.

Capital Creations is probably my fave pizza place in town. Its pretty expensive for pizza (I believe a large pizza can run you over $20) but its worth it.

I'm totally gonna get Little Caesar's today maybe possibly

snobbery is unnecessary but its okay to appreciate the good stuff

I think the 'za in Raleigh tends to be over-topped and this results in a soggier crust
crust needs a little snap in it!
