These kids are idiots. You are looking at a free ride to a major university and you do some stupid stuff and ruin it ALL. You go from getting a high quality education or possibly making it to the league and you throw it all away by doing some stupid, childish, highschool shenanigans? WTF is wrong with these kid's brains?! 10/22/2009 11:56:30 PM |

yes, as I insinuated earlier, TOB has backed off Hunter. Most likely he was going to be in prep school this time next year anyway, so maybe this story isn't over yet but for now he's no longer with NC State

i hope not. i imagine cutcliffe is just trying his best, creecy lives in durham after all. i wouldn't think he'd decommit though. i mean, he'll probably play next year, right? no reason why he shouldn't. 10/26/2009 10:01:33 AM |

If he leaves for Duke he's making a big mistake. Just an irrational quick thought. Duke will be without Lewis next year. They won't be good. 10/26/2009 10:14:30 AM |

Duke is coming after them hard and using this new found "success" to try and sway him.
Sounds like he is still on board and solid with us though.

very true. the elder Mr. Creecy had Steve run an article saying there was a misunderstanding regarding TC's commitment to NCSU. Mr. Creecy wanted everyone to know that his son is a man of his word and is solid to us
James Washington is not old news...he did something to his knee in practice but apparently no surgery is needed per TOB10/28/2009 11:54:33 AM |

Thank god! That's a commitment that we badly needed. Him and Dontae Johnson should be a good tandem in the secondary. Plus there is D.J. Green who could be a good SS if the staff doesn't move him to OLB. 11/8/2009 7:04:02 PM |

Schools Interested (known offers in italics) North Carolina State Buffalo Purdue Toledo Utah State
I imagine he didn't see much attention b/c his team just well plain sucks. They have only one win on the season, although to their credit they lost their last game by only one point. He plays both WR and DE for his school. Another reason why he hasn't gotten much attention was b/c he had some kind of really bad illness that kept him from playing the past two seasons. He also had to transfer from Statesboro to Portal this year. I'll reserve judgment for later, but he really does sound like the true definition of a sleeper, i.e. a kid that hasn't gotten pub for a number of reasons.
Quote : | "“Yes sir, I committed to NC State last Thursday,” said Rich. “Coach Bridge was really excited when I told him and he told me I was going to have to learn how to make the wolf sign.
“State has been recruiting me for about two months. I’ve been researching them a lot online and I know it’s a good place for me to go to get a degree for after football.”" |
Well he sounds like he's going to take his academics seriously which is always a good thing. Not everyone can play pro football, so players should take their academics seriously no matter how many stars they have.

Is TOB known for getting sleeper recruits more than any other coach? IIRC, amato got a lot, too (russell wilson, for example). Just wondering if anyone has any data on this. 11/9/2009 12:44:13 AM |

Every coach is known for getting sleeper recruits, well except maybe Pete Carroll and the Urban Meyer types. TOB though seems to have had more success with so-called sleeper recruits than other coaches. Hell look at Mathias Kiwanuka. That guy pretty much came out of nowhere and is now on the Giants. Ron Brace and B.J. Raji had no other major offers besides Boston College. 11/9/2009 1:08:57 AM |
