If all that happens, i swear i might wet my pants. On the other hand, now i got my hopes up so if it doesnt happen, i'll be freakin peeved. But if it does come to fruition, it might be State's best class ever, even better than the 5-man Hodge class.

man if we land those two it will be the biggest pair of recuits in I dont know how long for our basketball program. Sid would have shot out the cannon like crazy - it's almost too good to believe at this point so I can't get my hopes up yet....

Yeah, nothing's set in stone yet.

But there's plenty of hope...we'll find out Tuesday whether we're rolling or not.

They are not as good as Powell and Hodge....Those guys were both top 20...Hodge even as high as #3 in the land. But this is great news.

imagine for our 2007 recruiting class - SG Rashad Green (he's suppossedly a better athlete than his brother Danny, even though Danny has the better bball IQ), SF Johnny Thomas (one of the best players in the state, and already committed to us), PG Chris Wright (we all know about him), PF Tracy Smith (again one of the best players in the state), and C JJ Hickson (#3 C in the nation)

oh man, i might have to add on a third major just so i can continue getting free student tickets.

all of those great players to play alongside and learn from our already great core of players.

What is the latest on Smith???? Nobody seems to talk about him. I actually think he would be a better pickup than Hickson.

Thoes stupid motherfuckers at G'town

Quote :
"Rooter, I understand what you are saying BUT... and with me you knew this was coming, let's be honest and share the entire argument here. NCSU also won those titles under:

1. Norm Sloan
2. Jim Valvano

What do both men have in common? PROBATION and being known as two of the dirtiest coaches in the business. Valvano always gets a pass because he died--I look at his death as payback for his misuse and failure to help kids. He exploited people for a living, but was fun-loving, had a slick personality and knew how to make Vitale and others his whores. What goes around, comes around and it's always funny what happens to "great" people who in all reality were NOT that great. SCUM gets it penalty and Valvano got his. I puke when I see his speech every year--he suffered from a disease that MILLIONS of other, honest, hard working, and high character people do--and he and his whores acted as if he's the only guy to ever have Cancer. Good Riddance to Jimmy V and I will never give a dime to that organization--rather give it to the American Cancer Society any day of the week.

As for Sydney Lowe--who did he play for while a member of the Wolfpack? Valvano. Did Lowe graduate while playing at NCSU? For Valvano's sake, at least Lowe could read unlike Chris Washburn who was used and exploited as well.

Fast Forward to today--Chris Wright and James Hickson seem heading to Raleigh to play for such a "tradition" rich program that has done nothing since 1983 when they cheated--and remember they cheated under Sloan too--and not in speculation, in FACT. I call it as I see it and Lowe who is a baffoon of a coach and was proven to be in the NBA and certainly will be in his tenure at NCSU (and yes Sydney, that is spelled correctly, it's in reference to your time being employed not TEN YEAR). Lowe is at a place desperate, and that means anything to win, so expect to see more of this and it'll be fun to see when this guy is busted and everyone turns the other cheek as nobody EVER CHEATS at NCSU??

That program is a joke--only fitting for a school that trumpets the life of a scumball like Jim Valvano--I only hope he is in a "warm place" and reflecting on the exploitation and manipulation of kids. CBB is a business but it's also about bringing character and helping shape youngsters into men. Valvano was a character and used people like a pimp and it's seen as a triumph by his whores and cronies. This man got what was coming and I feel no sympathy for someone who used other people and brought nothing but corruptness to the game. It's guys like him--and there are NUMEROUS OTHERS--including a few in the Big East who we all know about-that bring sports down. Nobody is asking for handouts if they aren't given to people. The game has changed for the worse--due to people like Valvano, Tarkanian, Calipari, and until people call it out, it'll continue to be that way.

Wright and Hickson are good players and kids from all I know, but I get a little heated when it comes to seeing that program as "tradition rich". I know Rooter and Aggy didn't do this but that place has NEVER WON unless they cheated and Valvano and his "Angelic Figure" in his expiration make me sick. The guy was a scumball in life and treated like some Saint in his death. Call it like I see it--a character that had none."

^^to be honest with you, it is great compared to 3 weeks ago.

Look at where we were. We had just lost to Akron and southern Miss with two of the toughest games on the schedule coming up. Our basketball team is looking like shit cause word comes out that Brackman isnt going to play, although we still dont know. We lost our best player to the draft, and we lost our best two guards to graduation. Nobody knows how sidney will do, and basketball is looking like teh suck.

Then, we pull off a miracle victory over BC, and we somehow find an offense and shock FSU. The very next day we get word that the two biggest recruits we have a shot at for this year both have State in their top 2, one is expected to announce for State on tuesday and the other just cancelled a visit to florida after visiting NC State last.

Its been a pretty good couple of days. We're going to have to deal with b-ball sucking this year, but if we play hard and show some signs if being good (one or two upsets), and have Christ Wright and JJ hickson waiting in the wings with the possibility of Tracy Smith, we could have something good on our hands in the next couple of years.

^^Excuse me for being realistic. I went into football season expecting 5-7 so I am ecstatic about football so far. Basketball is not going to be good this year and that is just harsh reality. We lost too much not including Herb.

can you not get excited about the prospects of having Wright and Hickson?

I mean everyone konws we're going to struggle in basketball this year, but landing these two would be huge for the program.

50/50

its down between us and tennessee. Obviously Tenn has the advantage in their coaching staff, but we're ACC and Sid has done a good job as a salesman so far.

This is false. Hodge was ranked about 10th by most publications but Powell was not in anyones top 50. He was ranked ~77th by Recruiters Handbook and thats the highest i recall him being.

You are probably thinking about Levi Watkins who was ranked in the late 30's - early 40's by most recruiting services that year.

Bethel and Bennerman???? Surely you don't think Engin is better than either of those 2?

Or are you just saying Cam was a wing?

Cam wasnt a guard on our team...maybe on other teams with athletic talent sure

but he was more of a freelancer...kinda made his own spot....a guarding forward
