so Blaine Gabbert is the #1 QB on the board according to McShay. Ugh, what a terrible year to have the #1 pick. I wouldnt feel nearly as bad if we had a 2nd round pick. We could snag Bowers, Fairley, Peterson or AJ Green with the #1 pick, then pick up a second tier QB (Newton, Locker, Dalton, etc.) in the second round.

But thanks to the fucking idiot Marty Hurney we traded away that 2nd round pick (the 33rd pick in the draft) for Armanti fucking Edwards. What an absolutely awful move that was, I cant understand how that was ever justified in their war room last year. Hurney shouldve been fired on the spot for even suggesting that trade/pick. What an absolute trainwreck, a GM who makes awful decisions and an owner who refuses to spend any money on free agents who can fix the mistakes we make in the draft

For the first time in 10+ years I am much more optimistic of my other favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. They have a GM making decisions that I trust will be the right move. The Browns at this point are a much better run organization than the Panthers.

I am convinced that was a half baked effort to create hype since they knew they werent gonna make any other moves in the offseason. and I wouldn't be surprised if foxy deactivated him for most of the games this year as a way to jab richardson/hurney for giving him a shit team to work with.

I'm already over getting an elite QB in this draft. Luck crushed that. Let's just resign Moore, bring in another veteran, and let the two of them duke it out with Clausen for starter. It won't be pretty, but I don't want another young project. It's not far stretched to say we'll have an early pick again next year ... maybe Luck then?

As far as this year's draft, I know Bowers makes sense, and he was defintiely dominant this year, but he was pretty non-existant before this season. Plus, I just don't see Mario Williams, Julius Peppers, etc when I watch him.

Again, I think CB might be the best way to go. Here's a pretty good review of Patrick Peterson done back in October. I'll defintiely be watching him in the Cotton Bowl.

Eh, you don't draft a CB with the 1st pick in the draft. I think Plan A is to trade out of the top 5 and try to collect an extra pick or two in the later rounds. If no one wants to make a trade like that, draft Bowers . Panthers play Drew Brees/Matt Ryan 4x a year and need an elite pass rusher.

And no, casual working stiff sports fan, don’t try to relate to the idea that being a millionaire in any way should be enough. Players can always go back to school in the summer to get their degrees, and then, unlike now, it really is about being a student, since no college football player worth his salt gets the time to ever fully focus on learning. And then there’s the Mr. Football factor. For every Peyton Manning that worked out by staying around, there are more Lockers, Matt Leinarts, and Brady Quinns that didn’t. If you’re a football player, really a football player, you want to play in the NFL as soon as humanly possible. That’s the dream and that’s the goal, and when a player of Luck’s caliber chooses to delay that opportunity, that normally sends up a red flag that something might not be there … as was the case with Locker, Leinart, and Quinn. General managers and scouts might say they like it when players develop as much as possible in college, but they're lying. They want guys who eat, sleep, and live for being a football player, and nothing else. But I don’t think Luck will bust in any way when he finally arrives in the NFL. He’s a special player with a nearly-perfect set of skills, and yeah, if he really likes college and he really wants to be a kid for another year, then bad business decision or not, good for him. I do get the idea that life isn’t always all about the money, but if that’s really the case, then go be an architect. You don’t play football at the level Luck is at, risk permanent brain damage and other debilitating physical ailments, and not get paid the most money you can possibly get for doing it. Now go win the Heisman. Get something out of this decision."
