OKay stop riling people up. We've tried the donation angle and that worked for awhile before we got so large that we had to colocate the server(an expense premium still doesn't cover). Then there was the hardware upgrades that became necessary because sio many people were complaining "how slow TWW is moving". We tried to implement som very small unobtrusive banner advertisements and promotions with Ruckus Pizza and some other sponsors which brought the site some income for awhile and managed to semi-balance some of the costs.

You're lucky I'm one of the first to see this thread because I'm pretty upset you guys are acting like this. If you KNEW how much time and money Jake and Joe actually put into your precious little message board it would probably make you sick to your stomach. Don't get the impression in anyway that this site is anything close to a profitable enterprise. Ever since I"ve been involved the one thing stressed is that this thing would always remain non-profit...free for general use of students. Problems caused forced us to isolate general registration to just NCSU students with a functional unity email. To allow other people (alumni, faculty, etc) to enjoy this site Premium was implemented. After all isn't it fair that alumni make a small 'donation' to be here?

As it becomes more important that money comes in to the site we have to make Premium a better incentive. If having a "Premium Palace" makes more people interested in contributing to making this thing float then I'm all for it. Any of you with 1000+ posts should be ashamed if you haven't contributed. Instead of bitching about what the premium users get...tell us other incentives you'd like to see if you were a premium suscriber so we can make things more enjoyable.

I know this is a feedback forum but your tone isn't appreciated. I'm dissapointed in you guys...I expected more out of you. When Jake/Joe come in here I suggest you apologize. Don't get me wrong I'm not telling you to appease them...but you are being extremely unfair.

I think plenty of people were interested in subscribing to Premium before the "premium palace" was introduced. That's my whole point, it just seems like it's not a charity thing anymore ('well, I feel like I should donate some cash to the wolfweb'), it's more incentive-oriented now.
