CBS News correspondent Andy Rooney on Iraq: "For what?"
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/09/30/60minutes/main892398.shtml

Quote :
"Ike Was Right About War Machine

Oct. 2, 2005

I'm not really clear how much a billion dollars is but the United States — our United States — is spending $5.6 billion a month fighting this war in Iraq that we never should have gotten into.

We still have 139,000 soldiers in Iraq today.

Almost 2,000 Americans have died there. For what?

[...]

We had a great commander in WWII, Dwight Eisenhower. He became President and on leaving the White House in 1961, he said this: “We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. …"

Well, Ike was right. That's just what’s happened."

CNN Quick Vote: 84% want troops home within 6 months
http://www.cnn.com/POLLSERVER/results/21466.exclude.html

Quote :
"Do you think the United States should:

Stay the course in Iraq 3% 486 votes
Withdraw U.S. troops within six months 84% 13871 votes
Commit to do whatever it takes to win the war 13% 2153 votes

Total: 16510 votes"

So, according to this poll only 16% of Americans really support the war in Iraq. There was also the msnbc poll from about a year ago with 71,000 responses that showed 94% of Americans believed the Bush administration lied about Iraq's WMDS. I'm beginning to think that polls like these are a more accurate representation of the true beliefs of the American public, as opposed to the more "official" polls conducted by these news agencies.

it isnt 'scientific'

CNN polls, FOX polls ect, those arent real polls. the truth is probably close, but im fairly sure theres a little more support then that. maybe 30 percent.

Documentary on the war on terror and how the JSOC can do whatever they want and get away with it.

http://www.filmsforaction.org/watch/dirty-wars-2013/

Quote :
"Dirty Wars (2013)

It's the dirty little secret of the War on Terror: all bets are off, and almost anything goes. We have fundamentally changed the rules of the game and the rules of engagement. Today drone strikes, night raids, and U.S. government--condoned torture occur in corners across the globe, generating unprecedented civilian casualties.

Investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill (author of BLACKWATER: The Rise of the World's Most Mercenary Army) traces the rise of the Joint Special Operations Command, the most secret fighting force in U.S. history, exposing operations carried out by men who do not exist on paper and will never appear before Congress. No target is off-limits for the JSOC "kill list," even a U.S. citizen. Director Richard Rowley takes us on a chilling ride with whistle-blower Scahill.

Dirty Wars is a battle cry for the soul and conscience of an America few of us know exists."
