1. The title of the last thread was about the release of the Serenity trailer. This one seems better suited for all Firefly-ness in general.

2. There are rumors that Fox, which still holds first-rights on TV Firefly would put jump start new episodes if they're impressed with Serenity's box office take.

i know this thread isnt about the movie BUT im sad i cant go to the sneak preview thurs in charlotte [tho one of my friends is going...so jealous]

and i went and saw batman begins and i didnt see a trailer for it

but back to the TV show: YAY! i was wondering if scifi would pick it up soon or not

the thing about making new eps tho is that adam baldwin [jayne] is on another FOX show and if it does well im sure hell be stuck doing that for a while....so we may not get new eps for a LONG while if at all

i say we wont...why should joss go back to FOX after what all they did...they like to think they can pull another "Family Guy" but i sure wouldnt allow them to [or id at least make them worry b/c lets face it i want more firefly]

oh and btw inara and kaylee...i cant pick b/c i love them both...tho inara is prettier...but i sorta like kaylee b/c shes not thin and shes an average woman like me

the trailer sucked and the movie will bomb. count on it. The only people who will see this are those who saw the tv show, which means about 15 people will see it.

I mean, who thought it would be a good idea to make a trailer that made the show look like your typical manufactured summer sci fi action extravaganza?

Joss made Jewel Staite put on 20 pounds for the role. She'll be her natural stature in the movie though. Which is too bad, she's cuter with the weight.

uh, that's how you get the average guy on the street interested.
the fans already know what to expect. the trailer is there to reel in everyone else.

It's this kind of "logic" that will make this movie unsuccessful. Think very hard about why you cannot market firefly as though it were, say, star wars.

You will then see why "the trailer is there to reel in everyone else" is so ironic.

There an article where Tim Minear discusses the DVD release of The Inside and about how he pretty much expected the same thing as with Wonderfalls and Firefly, a complete series release with several unaired episodes (The Inside isnt doing that well in the ratings, and FOX execs are too dumb to realize its the freaking summer!). So I dont think that will be an issue. Regardless, I seriously doubt there will be a second season....usually when cable networks pick up old TV shows, its just the ones that were already produced. Besides, if Serenity does well, a theatrical sequel will probably be on the table; if it bombs, no one will even suggest making more episodes.

And it's hard to choose between Inara and Kaylee. I will, however, say that Kaylee definitely has the whole "the girl next door" thing working in her favor. But, like I said, it's difficult to choose between them.

That trailer is MUCH better! I love Firefly so much. I'm definitely planning on seeing the movie at least 4-5 times in the theater... that is, if it is as good as I hope it will be.

Yeah I just started watching a couple of weeks ago....its tempting to just watch the entire DVD set in a couple of days, but when theres only 14 episodes, you want to try to make it last as long as possible. Im halfway through so Im certain Ill be done well before the movie comes out. Any chance there will be anymore early screenings anywhere around here, or do I have to wait until September 30th like everyone else? .

So after finishing the series this week Im really geeking up for the movie...cant believe I have to wait another month and a half. Im not a huge comic book fan as far as actually purchasing them, but I saw there is a 3-part prequel to the movie out now. The first came out on July 20th, how long do these usually stay in stores? Im all over these if I can get them.
