Who here was a part of the last BIG campout? I know that was one of the most fun events I was ever a part of at State. I remember laying down in the street and my buddies drawing chalk around me to create dead body silhouettes that represented the UNC basketball team. And talk about fire.... you would have thought that Raleigh was burning down that weekend.

haha...we found this keg inbetween two campout spots, ours and some other random people. we asked them if it was theirs and if they had seen anyone claim that spot, or been by there for the period and they said no.

Damn straight we drank that thing dry, then proceeded to throw anything that wasn't bolted down into a fire.

It was pretty freaking cold however.

Camped between Alexander and Turlington - no way in hell we were getting tickets.

Throwing snowballs into a window on the top floor of Turlington. Some moron had a box fan set up in the window. The snow ball would hit the fan and explode into the room.

Man it was that long ago? Two fires, one at each end of the campout, the one at the bookstore had stuff like a couch, newspaper vending machine, people were climbing all over the parked cars and caused a bumper to detach from a SUV....I also remember staying out all night for regular tickets, in the freezing cold, before any of us had a tent. One night we were in a line at Reynolds and my fiance and I had two thin blankets on the sidewalk, AxlBonBach was in a chair with a blanket with us, and that night was cold to the bones, and I thought I'd never warm up.

i remember the bumper being ripped off of the red grand cherokee
a light post being torn down and thrown into the bonfire by the bookstore
the cop getting punched in the face as he tried to control the crowd
carpets being brought out from dorm rooms to be thrown onto the fires

i thought about that campout everytime i walked past the bookstore and saw the scorched asphault until they repaved it

I was there with JAllen1127, among others. Jennifer had this crazy stalker dude bothering her the whole night, saying shit like "she's my girlfriend, she just doesn't know it yet". This was especially bad news because Jennifer was drunk out of her mind, as usual on a Saturday night.

That night was a damn good time.

i remember i took three dutchmasters and rolled them together to make this walking cane looking blunt, you had to hold it w/ 2 hands and it burned like a champ..

Good times. I remember a campout in 99 when some guy got smashed and started fighting one of those vending machines for newspapers. After he bodyslammed it and the cops came, he jumped the fence and ran all the way downtown. Go figure.

I remember it being cold as shit...I remember getting sprayed by a water canon...I remember a naked dude jumping over one of the bonfires further away from the bookstore, and the cop arresting the naked dude and pushing into the squad car...I was hanging out with the girl who owned the jeep when the bumper got torn off, she was crying and trying to get to her car so that she could move it before the fire melted her paint off...I remeber the cop trying to break up the bonfire in front of the bookstore and everyone started throwing beer bottles at him, and then some moron threw an aerosol can onto the fire but luckily it did not explode...

That was a great night

he better be glad he took off after that, the PS guy was pissed off and almost caught himself on fire

Why the hell would he pour the beer in the fire anyway, that just sounds stupid on the officers part.

I was there too, camped on the wrong side across Reynolds, knowing damn well we weren't going to get tickets that year after getting first place in line the year before for the Duke and Wake games. It was still one of the best times I had on campus, ever. The bonfires were crazy, I remember at one point the flames reached above the trees, I can imagine what the news outlets were probably saying about us after that.

I remmeber it being freezing cold and constantly trying to sneak back into some dorm for heat, cause Wood Hall was too far away tor the quick walk. We started collecting palletes from various places to build our camp fire later.

I was there kinda, I lived in Alexander at that time. It was international co'ed dorm. It was divided by gender by floors. I hated trying to go to the comp lab over at Tucker and stepping across sleeping bodies...
