Well, if buy that we share ancestry with apes, the natural progression of that idea would be that we DID descend from sea creatures.

Sure, ultimately we've descended from sea life of some kind. The theory I'm referring to is this crazy ass shit I heard about human beings not evolving from apes, but from a sea animal similar to a dolphin. Supporting evidence (of course) includes the occurrence of webbed toes on some people, and the smooth, single-directional pattern of our hair--which suggests to the indoctrinated that we were designed for an aquatic habitat and only recently adapted to surface life.
