Alright, anyone who knows me knows that Between The Buried And Me is probably like my favorite band. I idolize Paul's guitar playing. It is an added bonus that I've gotten to talk to these guys and hangout on ocassion.

Seeing this song live I was blown away, but after having just listened to the recording I am a bit let down. The levels don't sound right or something. Jamie King what happened yo?!

yeah, like I really really enjoyed the song live. I snagged the video clip off misone that wes took before they took the video down and have been listening to that the past few days. maybe that is why I am just like meh at this recording? it just sounds weak. I need to bite my tounge and listen to the full album.

i dont know what to say about this song...the first two minutes sound like a video game. i love and respect their technical talents...but i like the punishing break downs of olde.

yeah, it is definitely very progressive metal sounding from the new tracks I've heard live.

I talked to JoelBJ and he has a copy of Alaska (lucky bastard) and he said a lot of it is very prog-metal.

So either way I am looking forward to Sept 6th.

^^ haha yea i figured. but look at the alaska demo in which jamie did recording, mixing, and mastering and it turned out fine. where in this case jamie just did recording and primitive mixing. and then btbam spent a lonnnng time with someone else mastering and most levels were adjusted there.

but the thing is, the band has total control over the final levels etc so im confused and i hope this isnt the final mix

i got it yo. after several listens i love it.

and it IS still between the buried and me. besides Will(since i consider the real btbam to be paul, tommy, and will) this still is the core of BTBAM. tommy and paul together write 99% of the guitar riffs and have on all 3 cds now. and tommy does all the synth and keyboards. so all you have left is drums and bass whom altho they have been different all 3 bassists and drummers have been phenominal and have not affected the change in sounds for them.

they have changed because all great bands reinvent themselves on each CD in my opinion.

PS once again ill say i love this song after several listens

I was just informed that the version I have is indeed only a promo copy that Fuse released like a bunch of tards.

I just heard Autodidact. Any doubt I had in this album is now gone again thanks to this song. We are back to BTBAM level again.

nevermind abstaining till the 6th, I want the full thing.

Just heard the full album, mastered. Amazing. BTBAM did not let down. This will be in my player for years. I can't wait to buy it on the 6th and see all the cool art work Wes did.

i definitely went into manifest to get the album august 6th. the lady looked at me like i was crazy since it was a saturday and not a tuesday. talk about heartache, thinking i was getting the album then realizing i had to wait another month.

this TOTALLY blows Silent Circus out of the water, hands down. this CD is ridiculous, selkies was NOTHING compared to the rest of the CD.

im not even done with the thing and already i can tell its going to be one of my favorite CDs of all time
