Downtown Winston is growing on me.
Not as "upscale" as Charlotte and no where near Asheville, but not bad either.

yeah, they're working hard to make it fun to go down there. now that the alcohol cap has been upped to 15%, I bet foothills will get even cooler, and more breweries and bars will open

Yeah, downtown's not too bad. I'm starting to get used to Winston now, although I still miss the variety in Raleigh.

As for me, though, I'm working in the radiology department at Baptist for the next couple of weeks, and then starting my second year of med school at WFU.

Yeah, I'm not too far away myself. It's about a five or six minute walk from my house up to Hanes.

He doesn't live with me. He's a fun dog though. I had him for about a week since the owners were on vaction. He had sooooo much energy so a week was enough however, I am looking for one preferably an older dog that's you know... calm. Just not having much luck with some of the rescue groups getting back with me.

yeah, though greensboro has more to do downtown and whatnot, I'd not want to live there. The whole place is one big case of urban sprawl.

of course, as david sedaris says,
Quote :
"Winston-Salem is a city of plazas – midsize shopping centres, each built around an enormous grocery store."

that pretty much sums it up, but winston's alot more friendly feeling. Like it's trying really hard to be asheville, but there are far too many doctors and old people or something.

There are some decent art galleries and bars

Downtown Gboro isn't bad at all anymore..all I heard was how boring it was before I moved here, but I like it a lot. Living downtown on Elm St. is pretty sweet too though...

it's nice to see some positive words about greensboro on tww. seems like all it gets is slack on here. i grew up there and liked it well enough. i prefer raleigh, but greensboro is fine by me too.

Man we got lucky with a house from Koury that is in a great neighborhood. there two more houses on my street for rent! Its quiet as hell, nice houses with space inside and in the yard. We are a five minute cab ride to downtown, so its a good spot.

I wish i was rich. we just got lucky, and there are three of us here, so it makes it pretty cheap.

My Dad is a partner for Triad Design Group right off wendover. talking with him the other day though, I think he is looking for someone with Cad experience, but hes not really needing a full engineer at the moment. The cad work is awesome though - you can do it at your house.

Lived in Greensboro for 15 years, first few on West Market, then in the Oaks West/Beechcroft neighborhood off Stanley Rd. Parents still live out there. Nice place to grow up, though I don't really have any desire to move back.

Some of the Greensboro people should invite me to hang out so that I won't wish that I was still in Raleigh everyday.

Yea, I know, lame.
