i am looking to get a video camera to mess around with some filming and editing

i would say that the budget is sub $500

does anyone have any suggestions?

sony handycams, preferrably the dcr hc-32. at least thats what i got a couple months ago. retail at 500, got it online for 400. its been great so far.

and all the reviews i read online said the 32 is better than the newer 42. so go with that.

theres my two cents at least.
