I have heard from many sources that "quotas" dont exist. I confirmed this for Winston-Salem PD and the HWP. But I do know that there is a new statewide "crack down" on speeding. Officers will focus on one area at a time, and maybe the RPD and HWP are focusing on the same day and same area by coincidence(sp?)

I remember I was drinking with an off duty state trooper last year at before a football game (I'm underaged too haha) and I asked him about quotas. Now he had a couple brews in him but he basically told me that there is defiantely no quota, but there is a tacit understanding that if you're not pulling in a certain number of tickets per day/week then you're a slacker.

I've heard that quotas are illegal even in most areas... but I've heard a cop talk about meeting his quota for the night so I know they do exist. I don't know if quotas are usually a monthly thing or a shift thing or whatever, but his was a number of tickets he had to write every night...

I think good cops make a "personal qutoa", one that keeps them looking good for the boss and one that is low enough so he doesnt have to get out of the cruiser too much or be an ass.

I saw two HP officers on motorcycles today. I don't think I've seen them on bikes for a while. Looked like Beemers. Anyone know for sure? I want one if they ever go to surplus.
