I got a refund for my awesome tickets (Section 2, Row J, Seats 7 & 8) when I found out Skynyrd had to cancel.

I have no clue who Moe is and that played into my decision.

There is no way to talk definitively about music. It's all your opinion. I can respect that.

But since I bought the tickets to mainly see Skynyrd in the first place, you can understand my decision.

I should have sold them to you then. The show I had tix for was the Sunday show in Charlotte.
And they weren't cheap.

I hope you aren't planning on seeing Dickie Betts. He's not with the band anymore.

Off the top of my head:

Hot 'Lanta
Statesboro Blues
???
???
Wasted Words
Old Before My Time
Woman Across the River
Dreams
Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?
???
Melissa (Greg on acoustic guitar)
Drums (~15 minutes)
Bass (Derek on Jazzmaster playing bass lines with Oteil playing melody on six-string bass and doubling with vocal skat)
Jessica

set break
Southbound

I wish they wouldve played more of their hit songs. I only recognized 6 of the tunes. The 40 minute drum solo got old too. Overall it is obvious that Derrick and Warren are awesome but I wasnt feeling some of the other stuff the band did tonight.

I think knowing that Skynyrd was out, and moe. was in made them feel a little more free to take those kinds of liberties. I loved the setlist precisely because it was different. I'm glad this wasn't my first show, though. I definitely would not have appreciated it as much as I did last year's.

and the moe. set lists was

st. augustine*
it
tailspin>
timmy tucker
happy hour hero>
she>
wormwood
okayalright

*third stone from the sun tease

i think im missing something here, gimmee a minute (oh ya wormwood!)

and ya, honestly the allmans were more jammy than moe. which really surprised me because outside of tailspin>timmy tucker moe. didnt really break it down (still great to see them though)

they still werent up to par with how they were 5 years ago with dickey and derek when they played a 40 min mountain jam, that shit was freakin awesome

[Edited on October 1, 2005 at 11:26 AM. Reason : if you didnt know the allman bros were a jamband then you shouldnt have been there]

I'll admit I just plain didn't know those songs. Let me know so I can rip my Instant Live CDs

I think my only specific regret was no piano on Jessica

[Edited on October 1, 2005 at 11:56 AM. Reason : I guess it was Chuck that usually did that]

^^^One of my fondest Panic memories is a Guilded Splinters with Warren Haynes at Bonnaroo. Low Spark> Guilded> Low Spark in Charlotte was pretty nasty also. And yes, it is a Dr. John song. Saps, you sir, have good taste in music.
