So apparently you can just type in bands or songs you like and it'll play stuff you've supposedly never heard of that sounds similar to what you like.

You only get 10 free hours of the service though. So far this site is rocking.

this site is pretty cool, but for some reason their music player is all skippy for me until it has loaded the entire song. It maxes out my download speed for about 15-20 seconds, at over 150KB/s, then plays the song just fine.

There's lots of sites that can give you recommendations like this.

Especially audioscrobbler, which bases it on what you listen to on your computer.
