new clutch about 20K ago, she started slipping a little at random times

any ideas? need more info?

maybe i need one of you guys to look at it

thanks for any help

I've pulled the tranny out myself to try and fix the rear main, to no avail, so it still leaks

maybe a little oil on the plate?

you got it. rear main drip is getting on the flywheel. it'll get worse, what oil gets on there doesn't go completely away with the clutch friction, it soaks into the clutch disc. the rear main on my trooper leaks like a faucet (like a quart every 100-150 miles, cheap ass motor rebuild kit). by some grand miracle my clutch doesn't slip.

You fuckers ever hear about a repair sleeve? Bet that seal surface on the crank has a nice little groove worn in it. Lap that bitch w/ 180 emery cloth and polish with 400. Or press on one of them repair sleeves.

#1 its a ford, its gonna leak oil, #2 is it a four banger or v-6, if its the 6, youll never get it to stop leaking if you dont have the correct seal driver and get it perfectly square, even the the crank surface has to be perfect, those things are a bitch. just hose down your clutch with some brake cleaner, try to start out in 4th and burn the hell out of it, and oil problem on the clutch is solved. then you will promptly need a new clutch.

^nice

you are a wise one

if I wanted to piss out another $500 to $1000 on the damn thing, I'd use the money as a down payment on something a little more worth it

I'll drive it till it won't go forward, then part it or give it away, I've gotten my $5000 worth out of it and driven it 120K miles (for 180K grand total), she's done her job
