Discuss what you thought of how the bball team played.

I was really impressed by Courtney Fells. He makes crisp passes, and I see him playing smart and not trying to do too much, like some Freshman that are making the transition from being the star on their HS team, to having equal talent around them. I know it's early and it was just a scrimmage game, but I think we need to work on our FTs some.

For that exhibition game against that Canadian team, the University of Guelph (sp?), I want to bring a sign that says, "Canadian Beer Sucks!"

I'm stoked about bball season, it'll be great to be back in the RBC Center

Can we get tix to that exibition game (through the online TicketReturn system)? Or do we just show up to the RBC Center?

So what was Jordan Collins doing dressed up on the bench? I'm guessing that he can't be a coach because he still is a student.

i heard he had recently had his knee scoped.

is Jordan Collins gonna become a Graduate Assistant like Levi? I know they were both dressed the same, and watching from the sideline seats. he seemed to have a good work ethic, and played extremely hard. remember how hard he went to the basket on that play were he injured his shoulder against Wake last year. it's good to be able to tell recruits that even if they don't make it to the NBA, there's a chance for them to learn how to coach here after their playing days, and it helps spread State's influence in the game. you never know when the next Nate McMillen will emerge.

I thought brandon costner had a good lookin shot, as did courtney fells. fells looks like he could become a scorer in a year or two and bennerman looked like he's ready to step into the "scorer" role if we even want to say we have one. brackman looked good too, definately beefed up a little which will no doubt help out in paint of the ACC.

as for the things that werent so great, gavin grant needs to learn how to run the break. i realize it was a scrimmage, but still, he was runnin the break like a high school frosh thinkin he's the man. get the ball to the middle, and use the guys fillin the lanes to your left and right or spottin up for the 3. other than that, evtimov not dunkin that ball was not shocking, but still funny. probably one of the very few 6'7" D-1 bball players that cant dunk. haha, not like he needs to, keep knockin down the 3's and makin people look stupid w/ the hooks and inside moves.

cant wait for the season to begin friday with gelf?? haha, might as well be mother mary's school of the blind.

What trips me out is the way defenders never seem to adjust to Ev. They follow him inside, like, "Hey, the big guy's going to dunk!" and then seem shocked when he goes out to take the 3 instead.

I mean, I could understand it if it was his first few games or something, but this has been going on for three years now.

They just need to follow through with the layups. Some real nice passes, some real easy looks, and they just missed the layup. Other than that, good stuff.

The only people Evtimov made look stupid last year with hooks was himself and Herb for playing him.

He singlehandedly cost us the Washington game by having one of the worst games any Division I player has EVER had

Stay outside the 3 point line PLEASE

that's weird. i thought that blatant no-call on Hodge's last shot attempt cost us the game. and it's not like Washington wasn't a #1 seed or anything. if Ev stayed out shooting 3s all the time, defenses would easily shut him down. the fact that he can and does put it on the floor and try to bang inside with weird hooks and layups makes him rather unpredictable and hard for any big-man to guard.

just think if they put a bball court in the middle of the carrier dome instead of just using half of it. like 51,000.

granted you wouldn't be able to see anything without binoculars. hell, you need those to see bball as it is from some of the places in there.

Of the 5 major conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big XII, Pac 10, and SEC), which do you think is the most overrated? 37% of the country thinks it's the ACC, according to an ESPN poll.
