i know. what's the deal with the animation? It's cool, but it's not at all what I was expecting. it's like teen-titans or something. americanized anime.... weird.

Yeah, it definitely looks like it was done on the cheap.

Hopefully it'll improve with each season, as most good anime does.

first off, this is NOT anime in any sense of the term.

second, this show is weak, i predict its a one season wonder at best. baby blues, home movies, and even mission hill were all better. hell I am inclined to say captain n and the nintendo power team was a more betta cartoon. apparantly if tom goes to the mayor was a buncha niggers rehashing chapelle jokes you people would have been all over it like free grape sodas in the hood. more like uncle tom goes to the mayor.

I think it's a great show.

one of the bumps before the premiere was a republican complaining about it, and [Adult Swim] defending it like it was going to be a left-leaning show. On top of that, it could easily be either pro- or anti-black. despite all that, I feel that the show stays fairly neutral, talks about the issue, and gets some damn good jokes in during the meantime.

After watching again

this series dosent belong on the same network as fucking Aqua Teen and Sealab slapstick stuff, the audience it seems to be catering to just dosent watch CN

I see this more as an hbo/cinemax cartoon, cause it aint gonna last on adult swim

i don't understand how this cartoon is out of place on adult swim. they're trying to diversify; i think it's awesome.

adult swim has all sorts of shows, and I think the fighting over certain shows and the situations where certain shows elicit nothing but a black and white "it's great" or "it sucks" shows that there's no set formula for an adult swim show

OK, I have already enjoyed this show so far. But with Samuel L. Jackson in tonight's episode? Absolutely priceless. I'll be there every week.

shit, tonight's was the best so far. Between the anal rape stuff and Sam Jackson quoting Don Rumsfeld - freakin' genius.

There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.

The ones we don't know
We don't know."

you're obviously missing the point.

the audience it is catering to DIDN'T watch CN. Boondocks is now the highest rated adult swim show.

Do you get it now?

this is what the new episode next week will be about as well. That's an interesting concept - matching the comic and the tv show during the same timespan.

those of you who are bigger fans of the comic than I am, is the stuff going on in the show original storylines, or is it from older comics?

what i'm really curious about is this - what's with all the pulp fiction references?

Last night was great. I'd seen the preview from him getting shot at the concert plenty of times in the past week and it still cracked me up during the episode.

What I like about Boondocks is that it's funny to me on many different levels, much like the way the Simpsons once appealed to me.

First season was great, second season was ok, then it just got bad after that. I don't know that another season is needed, but hopefully it gets back on track. I need to go back and re-read the comics now.
