" National Security Adviser was Woodward's source, attorneys say

Larisa Alexandrovna and Jason Leopold

National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley was the senior administration official who told Washington Post Assistant Managing Editor Bob Woodward that Valerie Plame Wilson was a CIA officer, attorneys close to the investigation and intelligence officials tell RAW STORY.

Testifying under oath Monday to Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, Woodward recounted a casual conversation he had with Hadley, these sources say. Hadley did not return a call seeking comment.

Woodward said he was told that it was “no big deal” that former Ambassador Joseph Wilson was sent to Niger to investigate the veracity of the Bush Administration’s claims that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger. According to the attorneys, he said Hadley dismissed the trip by saying his wife, a CIA officer who worked on WMD issues, had recommended him. "

All part of the concerted effort to attack Joe Wilson for exposing the nuclear Niger lie.

It's a pattern of leakage. It was no accident that multiple WH officials leaked the same information about Joe Wilson's wife.

It just seems like there would be so many better ways to attack Wilson if that's what the administration wanted to do. As in, ways that weren't as likely to backfire, or ways that would actually make his life substantially less pleasant.

^ because I'm sure it's just roses and candy canes for Wilson now.

Then what would be your explaination for the leak? Two senior White House officals accidently let it slip to two reporters that Plame was a CIA agent, and thus Wilson's trip was just nepotism at work and not really important?

It's not fucking study hall. These folks deal with top secret information everyday and if they can't keep their mouths shut better than this then that's even more reason to continue this investigation. Either way you slice it, Very senior officals of the White House are incompotent or malacious.

Grow the fuck up and get your head out of the talking points.

I don't know what the talking points are. Honestly, all the info I get about this particular scandal comes from TWW.

So enlighten me: how have we made the guy's life so miserable?

And I'd be willing to accept incompetent.
