I got an e-mail inviting me to attend an information session for the honor fraternity gamma beta phi. i've been thinking about joining a honor fraternity for a bit now. does anyone know any information about this orgainization . thanks

It's legit, and the NCSU chapter head is Dr. Van Dyke, the coolest professor at state, I think it's well worth the $50

Gamma Beta Phi is an honor SERVICE fraternity. Make sure you know that.

You have to get 5 "points" a semester to be in GBP. There are 4 meetings (one per month) which last about 30 minutes. You get one point each meeting, so if you make it to all of them, you have to get one "active" point (Adopt-a-Highway, Service Raleigh, etc.). The meetings are boring but don't take long at all, so you really just have to commit to 4 hours of service a week.

I was in it for 2 years. It's not hard, you do a little service work, and it looks good on the resume.

I got annoyed with them because they wouldn't consider my volunteer work at WakeMed hospital as their type of volunteer work, so I just found another honor frat.

i was in it...good organization...not a whole lot of committment...1 of your points too can come from donating a stuffed animal or $5

but it gets you out there to help the community and is a great resume builder too

i def would recommend it
