Figured I get more responses here instead of Study Hall, I know ill get more BS responses but I’m bored in the library and could use a laugh anyway.

So I need to prepare an answer to this question and need some inspiration:
Basically propose an amendment to the constitution that you feel in necessary. It Can deal with any aspect of government or politics.
Thanks all

You need to think about this carefully. There is a huge difference between an amendment and something that could just as easily be a federal law.

How about "To be able to vote one must serve their country for 1 year in either military forces or governmental agency."

This could be done by weekends training and serving or holding a non political govenment job that betters the community. Also providing a service that betters the nation as a whole could be accepted.

That's very broad but I believe Italy actually requires all men to serve for 1 year in the military. I don't know for sure though.

Didn't we get in a war over taxation without representation a few years back? You can't place restrictions on voting based on military service.

If you get rid of the electorial college, you might as well get rid of state governments and throw the whole federalist system out the window. The system exists for a reason.

i'm asking a serious question
aside from 2000, how many times has the electoral college and the public vote not sided together?

everyone always acts like it would make this big honkin' difference

but really, aside from us not having had bush as president (which would have been a big honkin' difference) is it really that hard to imagine a system where votes are votes?
