most of you guys are on the engineering side, do you get any problems with the sales department?

in reference to what? I do not think I understand the question. Do I get in fights with the sales department? Sure...those sumbitches had it coming.

i punch engineers in the face

nah most of the engineers i know get frustrated with sales people who make promises outside the realm of use for certain products

and sales seem to get frustrated translating engineer speak for customers

meh maybe its just me

the only time I have to deal with sales is when I'm checking the specs of something in use (typically antennas)...never had an issue (mainly b/c I can get 95% of my needed info from their websites)

all my customers are engineers so I dont need sales but i could see why I would want to fight a salesperson if it was saps.

dealing with sales is a two fold frustration. internally, you have have to deal with your own sales guys over promising your own product, then you get blamed for the under delivering. this has by far been my biggest frustration.

externally, you have to deal with some sales reps not knowing enough technical info on his widgets, but yet maintains that they will for certain beyond a shadow of a doubt fit your application. but its not all bad, once you establish a relationship with your vendor and get a good sales rep, they can become quite the resource.
