Xmas or Presentmas as it were.

I pretty much have everything I need at the moment. I'm quite content. People keep asking me what I want for xmas, and I'm like "I dunno" b/c I feel that anything I do get won't be used 100% and that's a waste.

I'm making decent money, I don't have many bills, and I have a decent place to live. Isn't that enough?

Of course I'm getting other people gifts, but it's not b/c of any made up holiday. I give gifts all the time, no matter what time of year. If I see something that reminds me of someone, I get it for them.

I guess I could ask for cash donations or something for my cat, since more $ is always a good thing.

once my brother and i got adult age (dont have to sit at the kids table for holiday meals anymore) my family went to a giftless christmas. still get little crap like candy and socks, but instead of big gifts, we spend the money on getting together somewhere.

I have much the same problem, since I always buy what I really want whenever I have the funds. I tell my parents and g/f to buy me books and underwear, shit I normally want/need but never think about getting.

gifts in my family stopped around the age of 14 for me.... we had the few gifts from the extended family but they always amounted to nothing... basically i agree with the a lot of you, its family and friends that make the expierence, what are things without memories...

I'm in an interesting dilemma


I was affected by Katrina, as were most of the people I'm close to. Some are better off than others at this point. As for me, I've still got a long way to go - I can barely get by on what I have and I'm still unemployed, so it will be hard for me to get gifts for anyone. In a similar vein, where I'm living is VERY cramped, but I have everything I currently need. There's no space for wants. Even things I might actually need, there's no space for. However, a job would be nice, I'd gladly make room for some uniforms...


This is going to be the most awkward Christmas for me ever... by no choice of anyone affected, we won't be together... I'm going "home" next week and I STILL don't know where I'll be staying... I'm completely in the dark as to what most of my family will be doing, where they will be, etc.


Simply put, I'm just not in the mood for it... I'm thankful that everyone in my family and most of my friends are okay... and that's pretty much it
