I would say that all things considered this has been a fairly poor year for me.

Not the worst, but certainly not the best.

How about yours?

other than that whole hurricane thing destroying my friends' houses and causing me to work ridiculous hours, quite good.

I passed the DLPT, I got married, I started out the year in New York. All things considered, it's kind of hard to top how this year went.
But now I'm in a place I don't want to be with a job I don't want to have. So it's looking bleak.

This year has been the shittiest of my life, hands down.

Stuck in a dead-end job.
Money has been tight as Dick's hatband.
I've had to try to reign in my last hard addiction (food) because my health is poor.
Forked over lots of money for tons of doctor's/ER visits...don't have health insurance.
Wife decided she wanted to be with somebody else...outta the blue.
Wrecked my car that I've owned for 9 years.

On the plus side...
I can now start dating again, and maybe meet folks more suited to me.
I can now take my wrecked car and build the race car that I've always wanted.
With no familial obligations, I can now look for jobs outside the Triangle.

i've moved to a country i don't want to live in
taken 18 hours of classes
worked 30+ hours a week on average

and made deans list - as well as completed another goal - saving the $$ i wanted to.

it's been a year of up and downs for more reasons than i care to mentio... but all in all - bring on 2006 - 2005 shall forever be remembered as "the year of doing what I have to do - not what I want to do ' aka: the year of being a grown-up'"

Despite the fact this thread is a bitchfest, I'll bite. It's been turbulent, to put it in a word. Some good and bad shit. Got really depressed, lost a bunch of weight, got my heart broken, got a job for summer, later to figure out that the job was bullshit and I was underpaid for what I was doing, tried to start another relationship that went nowhere, got really depressed again, quit my job, vastly improved my academic performance. Damn, I'm tired of 2005. I mean I'm worn the fuck out.

i think that 2006 is going to be a good year

I think the year shaped up fairly well. A few bumps but it all worked itself out.

Finally got the best friend that I've needed my entire life.
Acquired more real friends than I've ever had.
Did substantially better in school than last year.
Held down the same job all year.
Got a kickass roomie who in turn introduced me to a kick ass dude.
And recently got my heart fixed that had been fucked since birth.

Great year with the exception of dating a psycho bitch. Spent the first month in India, finished my first year of B-School, got a great internship that continued through the fall semester and got me the money I needed to live and have fun w/o loans, 95% sure of a job in Boston after graduation that will pay very very well, going to Vegas in 36 hours for new years and going to S. America for the majority of Jan 2006

the relationship was good from jan to may...then she went loopy and looked elsewhere...frankly it was good to end (not upset about it) because she was lacking in motivation and dedication to just about anything (school, work, etc)

I've learned a lot. I've done much better in school, got and lost the best girlfriend I've ever had, and became a wiser person. Now I can't wait for the new year and new semester.

Spent most of the year living in Savannah, GA which was beautiful, met cool new people...traded in the car I thought I wanted in for the car I needed, helped out some hurricane victims and made enough money doing it to buy myself a vespa! Relationship with the gf is going well too. The only complaint for 2005 was that it was a year of moving around and not having much time to relax. It was a good year.

Jan - Feb: very rosy

Mar - Jun: hell on earth + extremely rosy

Jul - Aug: rosy

Sep - Oct: drama-free

Nov - Dec: hell on earth

Overall: 75% hell on earth, 25% rosy

Jan- memorable
Feb- forgotten
March- decent
April- sick
May- sick
June- fun
July- fun
August- fun
Sept-Nov- really fun, its all a blur already
Dec- sick again

my even-numbered years always suck, tho. 2004 was terrible until about October. 2002 was good up till September, then it was the worst time of my life thus far. 2000 was 100% crap.

I spent the first half of the year on the verge of alcoholism and depression. In June I made some changes in my life that sent things in a new direction. Overall, it was a good year. Any year in which I make plenty of money and live comfortably without any personal losses is a good year. There's been a lot of soul-searching this year though that will probably continue for many years to come. In many ways it's been very transitional.

Many ups and downs (overall pretty good) but finished strong.

Right before Thanksgiving my work became demanding to the point that I had to cancel a trip to Vail during beginning of December. In mid-December I was promoted, so that made up for things a bit. Over Christmas my brother was able to meet up with me in Sweden, that was excellent - he is stationed in Spain and was unable to get home for the holidays (I just returned to the US today) and now I am in NY for a few days with the rest of my family before returning to Raleigh on Monday.

A final nice perk was that the return trip from Scandinavia put me over the top for Skymiles gold for next year.

Started off really great but I got too attached to a guy who broke my heart a few months later and the year turned into an emotional rollercoaster (Mar-June) Learned a lesson: stay away from actors!

Things straightened out for the most part, school went well and I found out that if I wanna stay emotionally stable I need to not date people who aren't, and then I met a guy (which with a rocky beginning has become one of the best relationships I've ever been in) and since September I've been in a long distance relationship with him.

Still have my wonderful kitty who I love more than anything else in my life.
Living in the same apartment.
Have the same car.
My hair is red again.(back to natural)

I'm just glad the ultra emotional part is over. I'm happy again.
