Anyone know of a place besides a pawn shop that i can sell an engagement ring at. I am buying a house and I need some cash, and I really don't feel like taking the ring back to the place I bought it in Mississippi. Plus I would only get store credit. But I didn't know if anyone had any experience selling an old engagement ring.

sell it to someone who is about to buy a nicer ring - they can get it cheaper from you than the amount that the trade-in value would be at a store typically

unfortunately the way the diamond market is dictates that once a diamond is purchased from a dealer, it becomes all but worthless as far as resale is concerned. Your best bet is what OmarBadu said.

your best bet is to hold onto it or sell it to a friend. I have one too. I don't want to take a $3000 loss on it. Most places will let you trade it dollar for dollar though.

Hold onto it if you don't need the money.

There's a place off Harrisson near Starbucks I think ... I forget the name, but the Bailey's in CV can tell you ... anyway they consign high-end jewelry
