My son is 16 months old and has been walking perfectly since he was a little less than 10 months. He LOVES to run around and get into things. Well, Sunday morning, my husband went to get him out of bed and he screamed when my husband picked him up. My husband said his foot was through the bar of the crib. I took him and got him calmed down. After a little while, he went to walk and he couldn't. He would scream every time he went to take a step. So, I called our doctor, who said to give it 24 hours and see how it did. That night, he got so bad that he screamed for 3 hours straight. We took him to the ER, where they x-rayed him and said that nothing was broken. The ER doctor said that if he wasn't better in 3-5 days, then to take him to our doctor. He wasn't better yesterday (still wont walk on his foot at all), so I took him back to our doctor. He basically said to give it a couple more days, but pretty much, there was nothing he nor an orthopedist could do for my son. He said that he could just be fearful to walk because it hurt before and to try putting him in his bouncey seat to see if he would slowly try to put weight on it again. I've tried that for 2 days. He screams every time he puts any weight on it at all. It is swollen just a little bit but not blue. So, I want to know: Does anyone have any clue what could be wrong with his foot? Would you consult another doctor?...I trust my doctor, but I am really getting worried about my son's foot since nothing has changed in going on a week.

I wouldn't trust TWW for medial advice ... but I would definitely get more than one opinion in a situation like this. If it were my own body and I was in that kind of pain ... I would definitely find out whats wrong.

Um he may have pulled a muscle which is not odd when it is stretched, which would explain why nothing is broken. It may help if you can get him one of those warming bootie thingies so relax his foot. But def take him to another doctor. They should be able to at least give him some pain medicine to stop the screaming.
