I just participated in an asthma study at Duke. They are looking for more research participants who do not smoke, are above the age of 18, and who have mild to severe asthma. The compensation they are offering is unbelieveable. If you'd like more information, PM me and I'll give you the number to call or tell you more about it.
Basically, it involved 2 visits. One where you get a methacholine challenge test(http://www.tbrhsc.net/patient_information/reference_information/methacholine_challenge_test.asp), and another seperate visit for a bronchoscopy (ttp://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003857.htm) If you don't mind needles and are low on cash, hit me up. 1/13/2006 4:59:00 PM |

I got a check in the mail today for $100 for my first visit which was easy and took about 2 hours. I scheduled my brochoscopy for the end of February. As far as I know, only one person has followed through and called them about participating. You guys are missing out on easy money! 1/29/2006 2:16:20 PM |

Isn't that where they stick the scope down your nose/throat? I dunno if I'd wanna do that...or more needles. Did they draw blood or what? 1/29/2006 3:36:04 PM |

They drew my blood and yeah, for the second procesdure, they numb you and use a scope in your lungs but you're completely out of it for the bronch. My dad had a lung transplant last September and has had about 12 bronchs since then so I know they're not such a big deal since I've seen him have them. 1/29/2006 3:40:19 PM |

You, my dear, are completely off your rocker.
Let's see here: I lost my job here: http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=372707 I work part-time cleaning houses to make money until I can find a new job: http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=376905 And I've put in around 12 applications, went on 3 interviews and I work at an internship as well as being a fulltime student trying to graduate in May and I have a sick parent to help take care of. I have worked every semester except for one and had three jobs over the summer and 2 jobs for the past two years. Needless to say, it's kinda difficult to find a job that works with my schedule. I'm not above trying to help someone do research by donating my time and body.
So why don't you keep your judgements to yourself until you have a clue? Kthxbye.
