I've been emailing him about the 3rd hour being cut. He blew up when he found out that detroit did it. Granted, we aren't as a big a market as detroit, but I'd still like to hear him call them out on air. I would venture to guess that rome pulled more listeners than any other show on 850 or 99.9, so I don't really know what they were thinking when they let scott van pelt come on at 2.

i love how 850 and 99.9 play the same thing too, why not leave rome on one of those, we can choose if we want rome or DG, and I like DG, he's decent, but i would take Rome all day every day.. I'm sure the station management has gotten calls, but maybe I should take some time to complain to them too..

If another radio station in the triangle went to the Jim Rome Show and offered to carry all 3 hours, would it be safe to say that JRS would move to said station, once any current contracts expire? Ive got to think that they would want all of their advertisers' ads heard as much as possible.

680 WPTF just lost their contract with Rush Limbaugh (106.1 is switching to conservative talk in January), leaving them with a slot to fill from noon to 3. I dont know if they would consider switching formats (probably not), or how a mix of news and sports talk shows would work on one station, but Id love to see it happen, if for no other reason than to see Capital get screwed (Im so tired of Dickie V telling me that 2 sports radio stations in the Triangle is "Awesome baby!" when we used to have 3). Even if 680 didnt do this, there are enough sports talk shows/hosts that already have an audience in this area that starting a new sports radio station seems like somewhat of a no-brainer.

yeah I don't really like anything on 99.9. I used to like Dan Patrick sometimes, always Jim Rome, and then DG sometimes, so pretty much I stayed on 850 the whole time before it changed. Now it's just Rome unless for some reason I really feel like listening to sports

I was all for Vinny Mac getting his second call, but he did about the worst thing you can do. He either had to be real good or real bad, and average would just make everything terrible. And he was..

I was glad to head Erik Cole do that, I almost texted in that Rome needed to make a decision so we could hear it before the 3rd hour went off.

yeah, Vinnie Mac called again and Rome was debating on whether to let him on or not. Callers/e-mailers weighed in and even Erik Cole called in to give his opinion, and the overwhelming majority of people wanted him to get another call. And after an hour buildup and talk about tarnishing his legacy and ruining his original call... Rome finally decided to let him on and he didn't even acknowledge any of the buildup. He just said he wanted to own his last call and said Happy Holidays to clones and it was basically just a really lame call and so everybody was pissed off about it afterwards
