Shill bidding on Ebay is some nasty shit but there's no way you can prevent it on TWW I don't think. I reckon if you boycott those types of auctions you'll eventually wear down shill bidders in general. Perhaps saying something like "bids through PM aren't accepted" would make people aware of it.

I just outbid the last person to actually post in the thread and ignore mystery bidders.
Or, if I actually get a pm bid in something I'm selling, I post in the thread indicating the user that sent the pm bid so that if anyone cares they can verify it.

good call, thats the best thing to do. I dont believe theres anyway we can prevent pm bids or fake ones for that matter. If it helps them get more $$ for their item, its their gain. pretty much how business in general run anyway.
