i dont post in this thread because there are so many haters....but, like Cycle said....1/2 game out of first now.


I really think boston will falter in the second half, for a couple reasons:

1) Beckett has never pitched a full season without missing a start, let alone in the AL, where NL transplanted pitchers usually struggle in the second half: (See: Clement, Mathew)

2) Papelbon has been a god thus far this season, but the law of averages says that sooner or later he is going to hit a rough spot. Also, pitchers like Craig Hansen have never pitched a full season in the majors and are bound to get tired.



Meanwhile, the Yankees are getting Matsui back in a month. Cano back in a few days. Octavial Dotel in a week. Sheffield in about 6 weeks. Pavano, presumably, sometime next month.

The Sox had their chance to bury the Yankees when they were all getting hurt, but now the boys are starting to get healthy, and its going to be motherfucking on down the stretch.

Yanks: world series champs in 06. im still calling it.

Yeah i agree, the yankees are gonna get healthy soon and be the world series champs. Sweeping the white sox and gaining on the redsox since the allstar break, their showing signs. I think whats also helping is their going back to hit n' runs, stealing more often, bunting to advance runners, you know small ball. There not relying so much on the home run a lot. Don't get me wrong, they are still capable but i think Torree is going back to the late 90 yankee style of baseball since some of his power hitters are out on the DL now, and to be honest, its working and i love it. GO YANKS
