I noticed a few people on this board are interested in getting a motorcycle, but have never ridden one before and need some help learning how to ride or even figuring out whether riding a bike is as fun as it looks.

I offered my help and have a couple people who came out for some hands-on training, seemed to enjoy it, so if anyone else is interested in learning how to ride, i will show you the basics and get you going.

THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A REPLACEMENT FOR A MOTORCYLE SAFETY COURSE.
These are offered in some local community colleges (Wake tech offers one i beleive), i highly recommend you take one of these as they have professional instructors and a number of other benefits, such as reduced insurance rates and an option to get your motorcycle endorsement on-site.

HOWEVER they can get expensive and usually make up a two-day course, so i can see how some people are not quite ready to do it yet because of a money/time shortage, or because they are not sure if motorcycles are right for them.

What i do offer is a chance for you to get the basics down, get a feeling for what riding feels like, test the waters sort of. All without having to worry about wrecking your new bike (or your friend's new bike if you are he/she lends you a set of wheels.) One hour usually is enough to get the basics down for those of you who can ride a bycicle and drive a stickshift. Basics include learning the controls, shifting, cornering, braking, and going over the stuff that you would need to perform during your riding test at the DMV.

My bike is set up so it is almost impossible to cause any sort of damage under normal circumstances (read: unless you absolutely flip it backwards or run it into a concrete wall doing 60, it will probably be OK). You will pay for the parts (but not the labor) for anything you might break (but as i said the chances of this happening are highly unlikely unless you get way crazy)

as far as rates go, i'm thinking i would charge $30 for the first hour and $20 for every consecutive hour. literally 50 minutes out of that hour you are gonna be riding, the other ten mintues im gonna be running my mouth and you are gonna be listening. immediate feedback guaranteed.

ALSO FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY RIDE MOTORYCLES

If you already a decent rider, comfortable with riding your motorcycle, but want to learn a few tricks, i can help you out with some tips on basics of motorcycle stunting, things like wheelies, stoppies, burnouts, acrobatics and variations of those. we would have to meet up and dicuss the rates on this type of instruction based on your experience and whether you are going to use your own bike or my bike.

All the stunt instruction will be held on a private property, so you do not have to worry about losing your licence.

probably will not start this whole ordeal until the exams are over, althoug if you absolutely need some instruction time this upcoming weekend, it can probably be arranged.

aight now i stright up ran out of moneyz to pay to my translaitin and typin beyatch so i guess this be the end of this public service announcement holla at yer boy.
bitchez love em wheelies you hear. get you laid and shit. hear me fools

but for real, i am not your certified professional instructor like you would find in a motorcycle riding school, or a professionl stuntider like you would find in a starboys wheelie school.

and i highly recommend both of the above, but i am trying to help people who do not have the resouces or are not sure about motorcycles as i explained earlier.

i've been riding on two wheels since i was about 12, owned a few bikes, taught a number of friends how to ride. i enjoy stuntin on my spare time although im not that great.

I did learn all this on my own by reading books, magazines, articles online and by practicing a lot. i feel like i have a pretty good idea what the common pitfalls are. As i said i am not a pro but i am more than confident i can handle the instruction for the beginners.

also i dont have a problem letting n00bs ride my bike which is where a lot of other people would stumble.

Well I had my first lesson with Igor today, i was a little intimidated at first...since ive never even been on a dirt bike, but after going over the basics and testing it out it wasnt bad at all. I think i picked it up pretty quick, after every few laps around he gave me some more instruction. By the end (about an hour) I was comfortable with everything. Its just gotta take some more practice to get everything smoothed out...and to top it off i didnt crash.

Igor was very helpful and informative, anybody interesting it learning to ride could def learn from him and i would reccomend it.

oh yeah, them Suzuki GS lights.. i remember.. someone else off the tdub snatched the engine off that bike. i still have bunch of parts for that bike and for my hawk laying around. some yamaha virago and suzuki katana parts as well i think.

by the way as far as riding lessons go, i will provide you with safety gear (helmet, gloves, jacket)

how do you teach people when it is hard enough to understand you when face to face, let alone with helmets and motorcycle engines running. just messing man. if i could afford a crap bike to drop and stuff i would definately get some stunting tips from you. that shit was hilarious when you were drunk at the first Garage Fight Club and showing me and Jeepman with your bike on the stand
