Prediction:

Canes: 4
Devils: Threeve

Canes go up 3-1, then Devils fight off 2 elimination games, but Canes plaster Brodeur in game 7, Martin gets so pissed at hearing all the "Woooooooo's" from Rick Flair and the fans that he retires from hockey, joins the WWE, teams up with John Cena and faces Rick Flair and Dennis Rodman in a no holds barred tag team match at Wrestlemania 24, only to watch Jack Bauer spinebust all contestants just on principle.

It's right now, and quite well done.

Elias, Gionta, Gomez, and Marty...the right choices.

yeah watching hockey on television pales in comparison to actually being there. and it's a whole nother story if you grew up playing. you start yelling stuff like, "WTF is wrong with you. forecheck for Christ's sake," and "hey [insert player name here] hit somebody why don't you." it gets even worse when they end up being offside during a situation that was very avoidable. i think at a Checkers game, when i was a kid, i once yelled "come on guys, i'm only 8 and i can stay onside better than you guys."

what i hate the most is when the team you're pulling for just keep passing it and playing around with the puck, when they had numerous chances to take a good shot.

Still lost that last game. No ties in Playoffs. Should be a good series.

Plz to someone to break Martin Brodeur's legs!

my guess is you guys go down 3-1 and then someone "accidentally" plows over brodeur resulting in a torn ACL

ya know you cant take star players out "accidentally" the same way every time

You'd have to sit on him in the b-fly to tear an ACL, not run him.

Huh? NBC-HD has one of the more clear pictures out of all the HD network channels. The ND games were far better then the CBS/ABC HD games...

We'll just likely have to deal with Doc Emrick, who has a great voice, but is a filthy Devils lover..

^ please. someone shoot the bastard. fuck. canes should trade for jessie boulerice again and have him just go break his leg nancy kerrigan style. end his life. the fucker.

nbc hd sucks, im telling you it sucks. nbc is the same as universal hd which did the olympics and i thought those sucked too. maybe its cause nbc is 720p and my box has to convert it to 1080i but i just think there's better hd out there. INHD and HDNET look great for hockey...i wish the canes games were on those.

Doubt they'll practice today.

I just got back from the box office to get my game 1 tickets. Prices have really gone up. The $25 round 1 seats (upper end zone) are now $40, and the $31 round 1 seats (upper corners) are now $50.

Barry Melrose picked the Canes to win this series.

I dunno if that is good or bad.

He said Brodeur was gonna see some real offense this series!

New Jersey is a better version of Montreal. They'll wait for us to do something stupid, and if the EGG line is on the ice they will score. We need to have better defense from our forwards otherwise it will be a short series.

Quote :
"Carolina has a dismal record in April, with only one playoff series win in franchise history (back in 1986, when they were the Hartford Whalers). It's hard to see things turning out any better this year. Ron Francis, Jeff O'Neill and Sami Kapanen lead a maturing team, but Carolina remains a day late and a dollar short in too many areas. If they don't try to force chances, the power play chips in and goaltender Arturs Irbe brings his best game, the Hurricanes can give New Jersey a tough series.

The Devils spent the first weeks of the season in disarray, regrouped and finished strongly. The offence suffers without Scott Gomez (hand injury) and the defence is not the airtight unit it was in recent years, but this team has steadily improved down the stretch. New Jersey also made the best deadline deal by acquiring Joe Nieuwendyk, still one of the finest all-around centres in the game and an A-list playoff performer. The Devils are rolling.

Prediction: New Jersey in five."

guys, i'm new to hockey and I'm really excited this year after watching the playoffs for the first time. This sport is pretty badass....

anyhow, i decided to take my fiancee to the NJ Devils Game1 next friday/saturday (tba), went all out on tickets to get my first full NHL live game experience. Can't wait...

but I need to know, and someone help me out - do you have to buy a parking ticket, and are there any tips as for as what to do pregame? Do they sell beer throughout the whole game? pregame?
